Effective Error‐Proofing is a comprehensive guideline on how to implement change within an organization by moving away from detection
CQI ‐18 Mar‐11
oriented quality practices, toward a culture of zero error.
Improve product quality and lower cost with the Sub‐Tier Supplier Management Process Guideline. Developed to address common issues in
the industry, this guideline defines the minimum quality‐related requirements for Sub‐Tier suppliers and provides explicit guidance on
CQI ‐19 Aug‐12 effective identification and control of Pass Through Characteristics (PTC). It also defines the minimum content for use in an organization's
supplier risk and quality system assessments, and lists qualifications for supplier development "coaches", resulting in higher quality and lower
cost to all members of the supply chain.
This guide provides the latest thinking in problems solving available and focuses on root cause analysis, the roles of the problem solving team
CQI ‐20 Jun‐12 members in resolving difficult to diagnose issues, and provides guidance for which quality tools are most effective at each stage of the
process.
CQI ‐21 Sep‐12
This guide focuses on the leader's role in establishing the culture for problem solving teams and effectively engaging with them to prevent
problem recurrence, which cost the industry in both lost profitability and quality.
Most companies typically waste up to 35% of their operating budgets doing things less efficiently than possible or by failing to capitalize on
opportunities. The Cost of Poor Quality Guide will help you identify and quantify where inefficiencies exist, effectively communicate these

AIAG's Molding System Assessment is a common process approach to control molding processes and a methodology to evaluate and
CQI ‐23 Mar‐14 remediate current processes. It also provides best practices for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of
variation and waste in the supply chain, and includes a CD with forms to complete the assessment.
Design Review Based on Failure Modes (DRBFM Reference Guide):
The AIAG DRBFM Reference Guide is intended to provide information and examples of procedures to implement DRBFM proficiency

expectations at all levels of engineering and management. The AIAG DRBFM document also aligns with the SAE J2886 DRBFM Recommended
Practice.
The new CQI‐25 SPC Quick Start Guide is a supplement to the full SPC Manual and provides the building blocks of statistical process control
for those who are new to the topic or have only experienced SPC from a limited perspective. The Quick Start Guide covers about 90 percent
of the full
manual's SPC applications in a succinct format with text and graphics and includes examples of the most commonly used control charts with
CQI ‐25 Mar‐15 easy‐to‐ understand calculation sheets. Suppliers have struggled in the past with quickly finding answers to their SPC‐related questions
because of the full SPC Manual's size and detail. The new SPC QSG helps suppliers easily find and understand how to apply the most
necessary methodologies. The SPC QSG synthesizes the key information from the SPC Manual down to its core, focusing the new guideline on
what is critical and necessary. The Quick Start Guide also designates the levels of importance for different methodologies, so suppliers can
prioritize their SPC deployment activities.
The SPC Short Run Supplement (CQI‐26) guideline was developed to address the particular uniqueness of short run production, where
suppliers do not have the production volume to readily apply the approaches identified in the SPC Reference Manual, 2nd Edition. Providing
CQI ‐26 Feb‐16 easy to understand examples of commonly used short run charts, the SPC Short Run Supplement is a guideline used to analyze, monitor and
control process that do not satisfy the sampling requirements of standard SPC charts. This document is not intended to supplant the SPC
Reference Manual but to supplement and simplify its contents when a short run application is called for.
Developed by AIAG's OEM and Supplier members, the goal of the Casting System Assessment is the development of a robust casting process
that eliminates common root causes of casting defects. This process, coupled with an internationally recognized quality management system
and applicable customer‐specific requirements, defines the fundamental requirements for casting processes. The assessment can be used to
CQI ‐27 Mar-18
assess an organization's ability to meet customer, regulatory, and the organization's own requirements, and can also be used between an
organization and its suppliers to provide a common audit for automotive casting suppliers. This manual includes a CD which contains the
forms to complete the assessment.
Traceability provides product visibility throughout the supply chain, greatly reducing the amount of product and/or vehicles needing recall
due to a non-conformance. AIAG's Traceability Guideline is a single, consistent application guideline for traceability, highlighting best

practices and showcasing applications/case studies of the latest technology solutions. The Guideline includes a Traceability Self -Assessment
and Traceability Fire Drill forms to identify and verify the effectiveness of an organization's traceability system.
The family of CQI Special Processes is expected through a new CQI-29 Brazing System Assessment in 2021. We will keep you informed about
this with our newsletter. The North American automotive association AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) is the publisher of the CQI
(Continuous Quality Improvement) standards. The CQI-29 Brazing System Assessment is a self-assessment with regard to brazing processes
cqi 29 2021
and must be carried out at least once a year.his standard is a supplement to IATF 16949 under "customer -specific requirements" and applies
to all global automotive suppliers who have entered into a contractual purchasing, delivery or quality agreement throughout the supply
chain.
