Personal Awareness & Responsibility

Strength
1. Self-awareness: The ability to recognize and understand one's own emotions,
thoughts, and values.

Regarding "Personal Awareness & Responsibility" core competencies, I've discovered

that I have a strong sense of self-awareness. This means that I have a good
understanding of my strengths and weaknesses, my emotions, and my impact on others.
When I make mistakes, I take responsibility for them and learn from them. Additionally, I
am able to reflect on my thoughts and actions and make changes to better myself.
Overall, my strength in self-awareness has helped me to become a more responsible
and mature individual.

2. Accountability: The willingness to take responsibility for one's actions and

decisions.

I have a strong sense of accountability. When I work in a group with people, I usually
take the role of a leader. Every time, I take responsibility for any action of decision made
within the group since I am the leader. For example, if one of the teammates does not
make a ppt for a presentation that is due in a few hours I will make sure it will be finished
by the time of the presentation and if it doesn’t get done, I take the penalty.

Areas of Improvement
1. Motivation: Identify your values and goals to help you stay focused and
motivated.

I've been thinking about my core competencies lately, and I realized that I need to
improve my motivation. Although I can finish tasks and meet deadlines, I don't always
feel motivated to do more than what's required. To address this issue, I'm going to set
more challenging goals for myself and remind myself why I'm passionate about what I'm
doing. I'm also planning to ask others for feedback to keep myself accountable and
motivated. Overall, I know that with some effort and focus, I can improve my motivation
and achieve greater success in both my personal and professional life.
Social Responsibility
Strength
1. Citizenship: The commitment to actively participate in civic affairs and community
service.

I believe that one of my greatest strengths lies in the "Citizenship" aspect of the "Social
Responsibility" core competency. I am someone who is deeply committed to giving back
to my community and making a positive impact on the world around me. Whether it's
volunteering at local charities or advocating for important causes, I always strive to use
my skills and resources to make a difference in the lives of others. Through my
dedication to being a responsible citizen, I hope to inspire others to join me in creating a
better, more just society for all.

2. Global and Cultural Awareness: The ability to understand and appreciate diverse
perspectives and cultures.

I have always had a keen interest in different cultures and ways of life around the world.
Due to my personal experiences and travels, I have developed a strong sense of global
and cultural awareness, which is a core competency under "Social Responsibility." I
enjoy learning about the customs, traditions, and beliefs of people from diverse
backgrounds and actively seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge and
understanding. With my strength in global and cultural awareness, I am able to
communicate effectively and respectfully with people from all walks of life, fostering
positive relationships and promoting cultural exchange.

Areas of Improvement
1. Cultural Competence: The ability to interact effectively with people from different
cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.

As I reflect on my performance in the "Social Responsibility" competency, I realize that

my area of improvement lies in "Cultural Competence." Although I am aware of the
importance of diversity, I sometimes struggle to understand and appreciate different
cultural perspectives. I acknowledge that I need to work on developing more empathy
and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with people from diverse backgrounds. To
achieve this, I plan to actively seek out opportunities to learn about different cultures and
engage with people who have different beliefs and values than my own.
Critical Thinking
Strength
1. Analysis and Problem Solving: The ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate
complex problems and develop effective solutions.

I have always been particularly strong in the "Analysis and Problem Solving"
competency. I have a knack for breaking down complex problems into smaller, more
manageable parts, and then finding creative and effective solutions to those problems. I
am a natural critical thinker, and I excel at using logic and reason to evaluate situations
and come up with innovative solutions. Whether it's a work-related issue or a personal
challenge, I am always ready to apply my analytical and problem-solving skills to find a
way forward.

2. Decision Making: Learn to make decisions based on a combination of objective

evidence and subjective factors, such as intuition or values.

I'm really good at making decisions as part of critical thinking. I can collect and study
important information, think about different options, and come up with smart conclusions.
I can also think about any problems that might happen and what will happen in the short
and long term after I make my choice. For example, as a boss with good decision-
making skills, I can quickly make smart choices even when things are really stressful by
listening to my team and others, looking at the facts, and thinking about what risks and
rewards might happen in the future.

Areas of Improvement
1. Creativity and Innovation: The ability to generate new and original ideas and
approaches to problems.

I have identified that my area of improvement lies in the "Creativity and Innovation"
subpoint under the "Critical Thinking" competency. While I possess strong problem-
solving skills, I often struggle to generate original ideas and think outside of the box. I
tend to rely on established methods and traditional approaches rather than exploring
new avenues. To address this, I plan to actively seek out inspiration from various
sources and engage in brainstorming sessions to foster more innovative thinking.
Communication
Strength
1. Effective Communication: The ability to convey information and ideas clearly and
effectively through verbal and written communication.

As someone who excels at effective communication, I possess a variety of abilities and

traits that support my success. For instance, I have excellent active listening abilities that
enable me to completely comprehend others' perspectives and respond accordingly. I
am also adept at changing my communication style to suit various audiences or settings,
and I possess a strong capacity for crystal-clear, concise thought-expression.
Additionally, I feel at ease providing and taking criticism and use it to further develop my
communication abilities.

2. Nonverbal communication: The ability to use body language, facial expressions,

and tone of voice to convey messages and build rapport with others.

When I listen to others, I try to maintain eye contact, make the appropriate facial
expressions, and adopt a focused body posture. I also pay attention to nonverbal cues
from others, such as changes in their tone of voice or body language, which may
indicate that they are feeling uneasy or disturbed. By doing so, I am able to
communicate more effectively and establish rapport and trust with others more easily.

Areas of Improvement
1. Active Listening: The ability to fully focus on and understand what others are
saying and respond appropriately.

I can start by concentrating on the speaker and avoiding distractions like checking my
phone or formulating my response in order to develop my active listening skills. To
demonstrate my interest and knowledge, I can also employ verbal and nonverbal
indicators like nodding or paraphrasing what the speaker said. I can also work on my
empathy and ability to put myself in the speaker's position in order to better grasp their
viewpoint and interact with others. As a manager, for instance, I can apply active
listening techniques to better comprehend the issues that worry my staff members and
offer feedback or support that is more useful.
