11 - CALCITE
STANDARD ANGLE
2 conditions
1. Vertex is at origin (0,0)
2. Initial side is at positive x axis
ANGLES
- counter clockwise = positive
- clockwise = negative
UNIT CIRCLE
- vertex is at origin
- radius is at 1 unit
- 1 complete revolution is 360 degrees
- 2π as circumference
PARTS OF ANGLE
COTERMINAL SIDES
- are two angles in standard position that
have the same terminal sides
DEGREE TO RADIAN
π
- given × 180
RADIAN TO DEGREE
180
- given × π
SECTOR OF A CIRCLE
- is the portion of the interior of a circle bounded by the initial and terminal sides of a
central angle and its intercepted arc.
- FORMULAS:
If S is missing S = r(θ)
𝑆
If R is missing R = θ
𝑆
If θ is missing θ= 𝑅
AREA FORMULA
1 2
A= 2
𝑟θ
QUADRANTS
- 1st quad = all positive
- 2nd quad = positive si sin at csc
- 3rd quad = positive si tan at cot
- 4th quad = positive si cos at sec
REFERENCE ANGLE
Note:
Quadrant 1 = if nag exceed ti 90 degrees pataas nasa quadrant 2 na siya
Quadrant 2 = if nafg exceed ti 180 degrees pataas nasa quadrant 3 na siya
Quadrant 3 = if nag exceed ti 270 pataas nasa quadrant 4 na siya
Quadrant 4 = limit is only hanggang 360 degrees because one complete revolution na
siya.
EXAMPLE
DOMAIN AND RANGE SIN, COS, TAN, CSC, SEC, AND COT
AMPLITUDE
- always positive (absolute value)
- highest point
- for example sin = -12 sin x (the amplitude is 12)
𝑏
- frequency = 2π
IDENTITY
- true for all values
CONDITIONAL
- true for some values
