I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the 60 minutes, the learners should be able to:

a. recognize their strengths and weaknesses based from the Johari window
diagram;

b. discover ways on how to build up strengths and cope up limitations; and

c. share their unique habits, characteristics and experiences.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Knowing and Understanding Oneself during Middle and Late


Adolescence.

III. PROCEDURE

A. Classroom Routines

B. Review

Begin the lesson by asking the students to recall the previous lesson
on self-awareness and self-acceptance.
The teacher will encourage students to share their insights and
reflections on how knowing oneself can affect their relationships with others.

C. Motivation

The teacher will show a short video clip or present real-life scenarios
that highlight the importance of self-awareness and self-acceptance in
dealing with others.

The teacher will facilitate a class discussion by asking questions such as:

1. How does knowing oneself help in accepting strengths and


limitations?
2. In what ways can self-awareness improve our relationships with
others?

D. Activity

Self-Reflection Workshop

The teacher will divide the students into small groups and provide
each group with a set of questions related to self-awareness and self-
acceptance. Instruct the groups to discuss the questions and encourage
them to share personal experiences and insights.

After the group discussions, the teacher will reconvene as a class and
allow each group to present their key learnings.

E. Analysis

The teacher will facilitate a class discussion on the importance of


recognizing and accepting strengths and limitations.

The teacher will ask students to share how they can apply this
knowledge in their daily lives and interactions with others.

The teacher will discuss different strategies for dealing with conflicts
and challenges that arise due to differences in strengths and limitations.

IV. Abstraction

The teacher will introduce the concept of empathy and its role in
understanding and accepting others.

The teacher will also discuss how empathy can be developed through
self-awareness and self-acceptance.

The teacher will encourage students to reflect on how understanding


their own strengths and limitations can help them empathize with others.
F. Application

Real-life Problem Solving

The teacher will present a real-life scenario where students need to


apply their understanding of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and empathy
to resolve a conflict or improve a relationship.

The teacher will divide the class into pairs or small groups and ask
them to come up with possible solutions or strategies.

The teacher will allow each group to present their ideas and facilitate
a class discussion on the effectiveness of different approaches.

V. Assessment

How can self-awareness contribute to improving relationships with


others?

Answer: Self-awareness helps individuals understand their own


strengths and limitations, which in turn allows them to empathize and
accept others' strengths and limitations, leading to better relationships.

VI. Assignment

Ask students to write a reflection paper on their personal journey


towards self-awareness and self-acceptance.

Encourage them to discuss the challenges they faced, the strategies


they used, and the impact it had on their relationships with others.
