A. CONTENT STANDARD
The learner demonstrates understanding of: Philippine literature in the Period of Emergence
as a tool to assert one’s identity; strategies in listening to and viewing of informative and
short narrative texts; word relationships and associations; informative speech forms; and use
of direct reported speech, passive/active voice, simple past and past perfect tenses, and
sentence connector’s.

B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learner transfers learning by: showing ways of asserting ones identity; comprehending
informative and short narrative texts using schema and appropriate listening and viewing
strategies; expressing ideas, opinions, and feelings through various formats; and enriching
written and spoken communication using direct/ reported speech, active/passive voice, simple
past and past perfect tenses and connectors correctly and appropriately.

React to what is asserted or expressed in a text.

c. apply critical thinking skills through creating sentences using fact and opinion.

So, before we start our further discussion let us check first your prior
knowledge by playing a game. This game is called crazy cabbage (The students are listening)
game, so I have here a cabbage paper. All you need to do is to pass the
cabbage paper to your classmates while I am playing a music if the
music stops and the one holding the cabbage paper will stand and pick
a question inside our mystery box, open it and read the question aloud
and guess if it states a fact or opinion.

This statement is an opinion basing on the age group that the


virus has spread through; not only old people get affected rather
everyone may get affected by the virus no matter what age
group we belong.

People infected with COVID – 19 will get very sick and die

This statement is an opinion basing on the number of recoveries


recorded daily, it is not true that people infected with virus will
get sick and eventually die because there is a high chance of
survival from the virus as long as we follow the health protocol
set by the Department of Health.

in charge of Rizal Park and it was he who managed to make the park
one of the most beautiful parks of its kind in the world. He wanted to
