Title of the study
“ A study on customer perception towards ELECTRIC VEHICLES in Bharuch city ”
INTRODUCTION
An Electric Vehicle (EV) refers to any vehicle propelled by one or more electric
motors, using energy stored in rechargeable batteries or another energy storage
device. Unlike conventional vehicles that use gasoline or diesel-powered engines,
EVs primarily rely on electricity for their functioning, significantly reducing the
emission of greenhouse gasses and other pollutants. Electric vehicles can be
classified into three main types based on the energy sources and technologies they
use:
1. Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs): BEVs are fully electric vehicles with
rechargeable batteries and no gasoline engine. They derive all their power
from battery packs and do not emit tailpipe pollutants when driven.
2. Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs): PHEVs can recharge the battery
through regenerative braking and “plugging in” to an external electrical power
source. They can run on electric power, gasoline, or a combination of both.
3. Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs): HEVs are powered by gasoline and
electricity. The car’s own braking system generates the electric energy to
recharge the battery. This is called ‘regenerative braking,’ a process where
the electric motor helps slow the vehicle and uses some energy normally
converted to heat by the brakes.

2. Title : A Study of Customer Perception and Purchase Intention of Electric
Vehicles
Author : pretty Bhalla , inass shaikh Ali , Afroz Nazneen ( 4 may , 2018 )
Objectives : this study were to identify the customers consider electric
vehicles as a practical commuting option
Findings : Based on the study, electric vehicle manufacturers and
Government of India have to invest more on social acceptance of the vehicle
by creating more infrastructural facilities, putting more thrust on technology,
that can create trust in vehicles. The result clearly depicts that the population
is well aware of the environmental benefits. Now responsibility lies on
shoulders of Government and manufacturers that parallel to investing in
manufacturing of vehicles, Consumer perception has to created by providing
the above said facilities so that dream can be converted to reality, people start
adopting electric vehicle.

5. Title : Study on E-Vehicle engines and Challenges arise by E-vehicles
Author : Mohamed M, G Tamil Arasan, and G Sivakumar ( 2019 )
Objectives : study is about that Electric engines will reduce pollution.
Profitable to consumers and On E-vehicles government gives incentives
Challenges:- cost is too high , efficiency and demand in India is low
Findings : this study’s key findings are that Electric engines will reduce
pollution to a great extent and be profitable to consumers. Many countries
have implemented this technology and are contributing to the improvement of
the environment. With these challenges like cost of EVs, efficiency of EVs in
India and demand for EVs were taken into consideration. The implementation
of EVs in India aims primarily to scale back greenhouse emissions and cut oil
expenses. The govt. should make the foremost out of the opportunities
available and find suitable ways to tackle the challenges.
6. Title : Electric Vehicles in India: Market Analysis and problem faced by new
manufacturers
Author : Pritam K Gujarathi , Varsha A. Shah, Makarand M. Lokhande ( 2018 )
Objective : study is about Indian market and various problem faced by a
manufacturers for EV adoption in Indian market
Findings : this study’s key findings are that Early in the 21st century, new
companies were formed to take advantage of the absence of the large car
manufacturers in the EV market, such as Tesla Motors in the U.S, Globally all
these new manufacturers had released one or more EV models and changed
the equation of Auto Industry. Looking into Indian Scenario, still, long way to
go, the paper presents the current Indian EV market, market players in two
and four-wheeler with recent developments along with the current status of
Indian road transportation. Policies and initiatives of government.
7. Title : Electric Vehicles Charging Station Infrastructure and its Challenges for
the Indian Market
Author : Praveen Kumar and Kalyan Dash (2021)
Objectives : study is about that we need to implement massive scale of
charging infrastructure. Development goals through different innovative
policies and programs
Findings : study’s key findings are that Proper planning of place, population,
traffic density and safety should be considered before implementing the
massive scale charging infrastructure. The integration of activities within the
energy and transport fields is important. Development goals through different
innovative policies and programs, for instance, drivers of electrical cars are
offered a financial consumer incentive, like tax credits, purchase subsidies,
discounted tolls, free parking, will help the market to grow.

8. Title : Electric Vehicles: Benefits, Challenges, and Potential Solutions for
Widespread Adaptation.
Author : Fayez Alanazi (5 may 2023)
Objectives : this study is about why electric vehicles does not get attention
and find the solutions.
Findings : study’s key findings are that high manufacturing cost, limited driving
range, charging infrastructure inadequacy, and public perception. However,
these challenges can be addressed via government policies, private sector
investment, and public education to increase EV adoption, develop new
business models that enable EV use, invest in charging infrastructure,
improve battery technology and charging speeds, and increase awareness
about the benefits of EVs.
