 IHRAM
BEFORE REACHING THE MEE Q AT
Before Ihram: Remove unwanted hair, trim nails, make ghusl & wudhu (or at least
wudhu). Put on clothes of /Ihram: Two white un-sewn pieces of cloth for men and
regular clothes for women. Women should not cover their faces during Ihram &
men should not cover their heads during Ihram. On entering state of Ihram make
Niyyah (Intention - in any language).
Recite Talbiyah:

Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayk la sharika laka Labbayk, Innal hamda wanni'mata laka
walmulk La sharika lak.
Here I am O Allah, (in response to Your call), here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am.
Indeed all the Praise, Grace and Sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner.
Going to Masjid Al-Haram, men to recite loudly (women quietly)
Umrah (Tawaaful-Qudoom):
Entering Masjid Al-Haram: Enter with the right foot and recite:

Allahumma aftah lee abwaaba rahmatika

O Allah, open the doors of Your Mercy for me.
Make intention for Tawaaf.

CIRCLING THE KA’BAH 7 TIMES
Before proceeding to the starting point of Tawaaf, Al Hajrul-Aswad (The Black
Stone) men only - uncover right shoulder by placing Ihram underneath right arm-
pit (this is known as Idhtiba). When beginning each circuit, make a sign with your
right hand towards al-Hajarul-Aswad (The Black Stone) and recite:

Allah Akbar
Allah is the Greatest.

Men should walk briskly (Raml) during first 3 circuits only, the remaining 4 circuits
are done at a normal pace completely around until the 7th circuit. No particular
supplication (Duaa) is essential during Tawaaf. Duaa (supplication) can be made
during Tawaaf, except it is Sunnah to recite the following when passing the Ar-
Ruknul-Yamani (Yemeni Corner).

Rabbanaa aatinaa fid-dunyaa hasanatan wa feel aakhirati hasanatan wa ginaa 'adhaaban naar
Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save
us from the torment of the Fire!

Once Tawaaf is complete, cover your right shoulder and offer 2 rakaats anywhere
behind the Station of Ibrahim - or anywhere in the Haram. Recite Surat al-Kafirun
in 1st rakaat and Surat al-Ikhlas in the 2nd rakaat. Drink Zam-Zam and make
Duaa.

COMPLETION OF 7 ROUNDS BETWEEN SAFA AND MARWA

Begin Sa'ee at Safa. Complete walk from as-Safa to Marwah (one circuit), then
Marwah to Safa (second circuit) and continue for seven circuits, finishing
atnMarwah. Upon encountering green lights, men only - run from one light to
other light. At the foot of Safa recite:

Innas Safaa wal-Marwata min sha’aaa’iril laahi faman hajjal Baita awi’tamara falaa junaaha
‘alaihi ai yattawwafa bihimaa; wa man tatawwa’a khairan fa innal laaha Shaakirun’Aleem

Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever makes Hajj to the
House or performs ‘umrah – there is no blame upon him for walking between them. And
whoever volunteers good – then indeed, Allah is appreciative and Knowing.

Each time you complete one round (Safa and Marwa):

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, wa lillahi l-ḥamd. La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah(u),
lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-hamdu yuhyi wa yumit(u), wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir. La ilaha illallahu
wahdah(u), anjaza wa’dahu wa nasara ‘abdahu wa hazama l-ahzaba wahdah.”

Allah is the greatest and to Allah belongs all praise. There is no deity except Allah, alone without a
partner. To Him belongs the Dominion, and to Him belongs all praise. He gives life and death and He
has power over everything. There is no deity except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, supported His
slave and defeated the confederates alone.

After completing Sa'ee:
Shaving the entire head for men is preferable or to cut hair equally from all over
head.

Women should cut one-third finger-length of hair.

Upon leaving Al-Masjid ul-Haram with the left foot, recite:

Allahumma innee 'as'aluka min fadhlika

O Allah, verily I ask You from Your Favour

ALHAMDULILLAH
Your Umrah is now complete.
May Allah SWT accept your Umrah.

As-salāmu ‘alayka yā rasūla llāh.

As-salāmu ‘alayka yā khyarata llāhi man khalqihi.
As-salāmu ‘alayka yā ḥabiba llāh.
As-salāmu ‘alayka yā sayyida l-mursalina wa khātama n-nabiyyīn.
As-salāmu ‘alayka wa ‘ala ālika wa aṣḥabika wa ahli baytika wa ‘ala an-nabīyyina wa sā’ira ṣ-ṣaliḥin.
Ashhadu annaka balaghta r-risāla wa addayta l-amāna wa naṣaḥta l-ummah.
Jazāka llāhu ‘anna ‘afḍala ma jaza rasūlan ‘an ummatihi.

Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you O choicest creation
of Allah. Peace be upon you, O beloved of Allah. Peace be upon you, O leader of
all messengers, seal of the prophets. Peace be upon you, upon your family, upon
your companions, upon your wives, upon all the Prophets and all pious people. I
bear witness that you have conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust and advised
the people with the best of advice.May Allah reward you on our behalf, the best
reward He would grant a Messenger.
 SENDING SALAAM TO
THE PROPHET ‫ﷺ‬

‫س لِ َما ً َعـ َلى ِمـ َلّ ِت َك َو ُ ـ‬
‫س نّ َ ِت َك‬ َ ‫أ َ ْن أ َ ُمـ ْو‬
‫ت ُم ْ ـ‬

Yā rasūla llāh as’aluka ash-shafā’ata wa atawassalu bika ila llāhi ‘an

‘amūta Musliman ‘ala millatika wa sunnatik.

O Rasulullah! I request your intercession, and I ask Allah, through you, to enable me
to die on your religion and your Sunnah.

SALAAM ON BEHALF OF OTHERS

As-salāmu ‘alayka yā khalīfata rasūli llāh.

As-salāmu ‘alayka yā ṣaḥiba rasūli llāhi fi l-ghāri Abā Bakrin aṣ-Ṣiddīq wa
raḥmatu llāhi wa barakātuhu.

Peace be upon you O Caliph of Rasulullah. Peace be upon you O companion of

Rasulullah in the cave, Abu Bakr Siddiq. May Allah reward you well on behalf of the
Ummah of Muhammad Peace be upon you O companion of Rasulullah in the cave,
Abu Bakr Siddiq. May Allah reward you well on behalf of the Ummah of Muhammad

SALAAM TO UMAR
IBN AL KHATTAB (R.A)
‫سّ َال ُم َعليْ َك يَا أ َ ِميْ َر ا ْل ُمؤ ِْم ِن ْي َن‬ َ ‫ل‬
َ ‫سلميْ َن ُع َم َر بْ ِن ال‬ ِ ِ ِ ْ َّ‫سّ َال ُم َعليْ َك يَا ِعز‬
ُ َ‫اب ا ْلف‬
َ‫ار ْوق‬ ِ َّ‫خط‬ ْ ‫س َالم ِ َوا ْل ُم‬
ْ ‫اإل‬ َ ‫ال‬
ً ‫خيْرا‬ ٍ ِ
َ ‫َاك الل ُه َع ْن أ ُ َمّة ُم َح َمّد‬ ِ
َ ‫َو َر ْح َم ُة الله َوبَ َر َكاتُ ُه َجز‬
As-salāmu ‘alyka yā amīra l-mu’minīn.
As-salāmu ‘alyka yā ‘izza l-Islāmi wa l-Muslimīn.
‘Umara bni l-Khaṭṭābi l-Farūq.Wa raḥmatu llāhi wa barakātuhu.
Jazāka llāhu ‘an ummati Muḥammadin khayra.

Peace be upon you O leader of the faithful. Peace be upon you O pride of
Islam and Muslims, Umar ibn al-Khattab al-Faruq. And the mercy of Allah and
His blessings. May Allah reward you well on behalf of the Ummah of
Muhammad.
 GREETING THE SHAYKHAYN
‫الله َو َر ِفيْ َقيْ ِه َو َو ِزيْ َريْ ِه‬
ِ ‫س ْو ِل‬ ُ ‫ضجِيْ َعيْ َر‬ َ ‫سّ َال ُم ع َليْ ُك َما يَا‬
َ ‫اَل‬
‫س َن ا ْل َجز َِاء‬
َ ‫َو َجزَا ُك َما الل ُه أ َ ْح‬
As-salāmu ‘alaykumā yā ḍajī‘aī rasūli llāhi wa rafīqayhi wa wazīrayhi.
Wa jazākuma llāhu aḥsana l-jazā

Peace be upon you o resters next to Rasulullah, his two companions and
ministers. And May Allah reward the two of you an excellent reward.

DUAA AT THE BLESSED GRAVE OF

THE PROPHET ‫ﷺ‬

ْ ‫است َ ْغفَ ُروا ال َلّ َه َو‬

‫است َ ْغفَ َر َل ُه ُم‬ ْ َ‫وك ف‬ َ ‫س ُه ْم َجا ُء‬ َ ُ‫َو َل ْو أَنَّ ُه ْم إِذْ ظَ َل ُموا أَنْف‬
‫يما‬
ً ‫ح‬ِ ‫ول َل َو َج ُدوا ال َلّ َه تَ َوّابًا ر‬
ُ ‫س‬ ُ ّ‫ال َر‬
َ
wa law annahum idh ẓalamu anfusahum jā’uka fa s-taghfaru llāha wa s-taghfara
lahumu r-rasūlu lawajadu llāha tawwāban raḥīma

And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, (O
Muhammad), and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked
forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah accepting of repentance
and Merciful.
 DUAA ON
LEAVING MADINAH

O Allah do not make this the last occasion with Your

Prophet, His Masjid and His Sanctuary. Make easy my
return to Him (S.A.W) and to stay in His presence.
Grant me forgiveness and safety in this world and the
hereafter and return us to our people safe and
rewarded with Your Mercy O Most Merciful of those
who show Mercy
