REVIEW AND AMENDMENTS
Amendments and updates to the rules will be recorded in the Amendment Record, detailing the updated
version, date of approval of the amendment and a short summary of the amendment. The new version
of the rules will be published by MSA at least seven (7) days prior to the next event being held unless a
shorter notice period is approved by MSA.
AMENDMENT RECORD
1. CONTROLLERS
The Controllers of the Championship are Motorsport South Africa (hereinafter referred to as MSA). The
Series Promotor and Organiser is Rand Kart Club.

2. VALIDITY OF REGULATIONS
For the calendar year of 2024
4. REGULATIONS
All qualifying races shall be held under the General Competition Rules (GCR) and SARMC Standing
Supplementary Regulations (SARMC SSR’s), the SARMC Bambino Sporting and Technical Regulations, these
Standing Regulations and the Supplementary Regulations issued by the Promoters.
5. ELIGIBILITY
5.1 The Championship shall be open to all competitors residing in the Northern Regions and who hold
valid competition licences from MSA.
5.2 Any competitor who is not a resident in the Northern Regions and wishes to score in the
Championship must apply.
5.3 To be eligible for club awards, a competitor must be a member of Rand Kart Club.

In the interest of spectatorship and competitor challenge, classes may be combined as per the SARMC
SSR’s Article 18.
8. POINT SCORING
8.1 Points per race will be as follows: 1st – 35 points, 2nd - 32, 3rd - 30 4th - 29 and so on.
8.2 Non-finishers will be awarded five points less than the last finisher. Any driver who is present with
his or her kart in the specified time limit will be classified as a starter - SARMC SSR Article 15.3.
8.3 All technical infringements will result in exclusion from the Race, zero points will apply, and the
competitor will start at the back of the grid for the following Race.
8.4 A tie will be resolved in favour of the competitor having the greatest number of race wins, then
seconds then thirds etc. If the tie is not resolved then the competitor with the highest score for the
last race in the Championship series, regardless of the "dropped" points shall be declared the
winner.
9. MINIMUM STARTERS
9.1 Where a race includes drivers who are ineligible for the Championship, eligible drivers will score
points as though the ineligible drivers had not participated at all.
9.2 For all classes to qualify for the declaration of a championship, there must be a minimum average
of 6 starters. This minimum requirement must be obtained for at least 6 race meetings in the 2024
season.
9.3 The above-mentioned minimum totals are applicable to all classes listed in point 7 (seven) above.

The championship will consist of Nine (9) rounds with 2 races on the day.

11.7 All nine rounds with two races on the day will count. The final round scores double points.
11.8 A total of 18 races of which the worst 6 races dropped.
11.9 Events not participated in may be counted as drops.
11.10 A maximum of 12 races will count towards the championship, i.e. a competitor may drop his worst
6 scores (including any 0 score from a race/heat not entered or participated in).
11.11 Exclusions may be dropped unless it is deemed a serious offence by the technical consultant.
15. QUALIFYING
15.1 There shall be one warm up / qualifying session for each class to determine the starting order for
race 1. Qualifying will usually be a 10-minute session, but the program of the day may amend this.
The time of each driver’s best lap in the qualifying session will determine the starting order for
Race 1, fastest to slowest. The second-best lap time will be used to resolve any possible ties, and
thereafter the third best and so on.
15.2 The fastest lap time for each competitor in Race 1 will be used to determine the starting order for
Race 2, fastest to slowest. Best lap tiebreaker will be the same format as above in qualifying.
15.3 The fastest lap time for each competitor in Race 2 will be used to determine the starting order for
Race 3, fastest to slowest. Best lap tiebreaker will be the same format as above in qualifying.
16. TYRES
REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
16.1 Tyres will be as per SARMC SSR’s, Rotax Global Technical Regulations, the SARMC Supplementary
Technical Regulations and the SARMC Bambino Supplementary Sporting and Technical Regulations
for all Regional Classes.

16.2 Mini Club Mojo C2 Mini
16.3 Junior/Senior Club Vega XH3 / Mojo D5
16.4 DD2 Club / Vets Vega XH3 / Mojo D5
16.5 All club competitors must register their tyres at the first event they enter and use this set of tyres
for three events before a new set may be introduced.

As per SARMC SSR’s Article 10, race numbers must be booked by following this link www.rotax-

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
The Rand Kart Club Committee, at its sole discretion, is responsible for declaring the winners of the class or
to withhold such declaration.
17.1 Mini Club, Junior/Senior Club, DD2 Clubmans and DD2 Vets Club Championship
17.2 Junior victor ludorum is open to competitors from the Bambino, Micro Max, Mini Max, Junior Max
classes.
17.3 Senior victor ludorum is open to competitors from Senior Max, DD2 and DD2 Masters.
17.4 Point Scoring for Junior and Senior victor ludorum: The final points from the Northern Regions
Regional Championship will be added to the best ten (10) heats scored in the SARMC Karting
National Championships. The person with the highest number of points is the winner.
17.5 A Rookie Trophy will be awarded in each regional class for the highest placed competitor in the
Northern Regions Regional championship in his/her first full racing season in that specific class.
