2 Hiring process: 3 20
Different stages in hiring process, Preplacement talk and its
importance, Written tests such as Aptitude tests (Quantitative
aptitude, verbal reasoning, Logical & Analytical Reasoning),
Subject Specific or Technical Test and Psychometric tests.
Group discussion – Meaning, Purpose, Do’s & Don’ts of GD,
How to handle chaos in GD.
Preinterview preparation – research about company, look up to
your role, Organisation’s location in city & its presence
nationwide, understand and evaluate job profile for which you
are applying, HR interview and Technical interview- Tips for
face to face interview, Body language during interview,
Difference between HR and Technical interview, Questions in
HR interview, Salary discussion, what to do & not do during
interview, what to do after interview. Preparations for
Telephonic and Video interview. Unscheduled interview call
without prior notice.
On Campus and off campus placement – meaning and difference
between them. Rounds of assessment during on-campus and off
campus placement, job portals, Ways of off campus placements.

What to Bring to an Interview, What documents to carry during
interview, Professional Dress, Do’s and Don’ts of Interviewing,
Questions Job Interviewers Frequently Ask, Questions You
Should Ask, Questions You Should Not Ask, Behavioural
Interviews. SWOT Analysis of a fresher- self management
practice, Exercise - every student to prepare a list of SWOT
analysis. Arrange a Mock Interview.

Purpose of Resume, Parts of Resume such as heading,
Educational details, Internship/Work Experience, Project Work,
Hard/Technical Skills and soft skills in resume, Beginner –
intermediate – advanced level of skills in resume, Hobbies &
interests, Trainings & Workshops in resume, Awards &
Achievements in resume and social media presence. Do’s &
Don’ts in Resume Writing, Difference between Resume & CV,
Cover Letter and its importance, how to prepare a cover letter.
Display different resume to students to show resumes for fresher,
experienced person, skilled person etc.
5 Career Planning & Self-management Skills 3 20
Career planning options, New career opportunities, Attendance -
discipline & punctuality at workplace, Tools to plan work
through Gantt Chart, Grooming, Personal Hygiene, Group
Dynamics & team work, Prepare a group to perform a task,

(Faculty will provide questions, students will write down answers and get verified from
faculty and give suggestions).
2 Prepare a SWOT analysis sheet which includes their strength, weakness, opportunities
and threats. (Faculty will give suggestions to students as to how to showcase their
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats during interviews)
3 Appear for a Mock interview held by Faculty and write down an assignment on his/her
interview. (Mock interview of student to be recorded and then suggestions will be given
by faculty on how to improve)
4 Prepare a resume in Microsoft Word document (Prepare in soft copy, get corrections
from faculty and then take printout).
5 Write an assignment on career option student is planning to opt.
6 Prepare a power point presentation on stages in hiring process.
7 Prepare a power point presentation on how to formally dress up during an
interview.
8 Prepare a power point presentation on what documents to carry during interview.
