PATTERN TERMINOLOGY (US TERMS)

2
NOTES
Using this pattern you will crochet a cute duck in bunny’s outfit and a carrot hat.
The toy pieces are crocheted in continuous non-joining rounds (unless otherwise
stated).
This pattern doesn’t include any crochet lessons. You must know how to crochet
main stitches.
Skill level - intermediate.
The size of the finished toy when using the indicated materials is about 21 cm
(8,26 inch) without a beret.
My stitches have a semi X-shape. If your stitches have V-shape, then your toy will
be bigger.
The wings and the legs are attached when crocheting a body.
A scarf, a pants, a beret and also a carrot hat are removable.
So that the duck could stand and sit, I used wire for the legs but it’s optional.
The duck does not stand on its own, only with support.

This pattern is designed by me Olesya Baygacheva and is for

personal use only.
The pattern (whole or in part) can not be reproduced, translated,
altered, distributed, resold or used for commercial purposes
unless authorised. You are welcome to sell any finished items that
you personally create from this pattern.

Scarf
(in orange color, use a 2,5 mm crochet hook)

42 43

Work in rows.
Make a ch51 starting in the 2nd ch from the hook:

R 2-4. BLO 50 sl st, ch1, turn (50) 3 rows
R 5. BLO 50 sl st (50)

Cut the thread and weave in the ends. Pic. 42

Cut 6 pieces of green thread YarnArt Jeans. The length of each piece is
approximately 3 cm. Using a crochet hook secure 3 pieces to each end of the scarf.
Cut them to the length you need. Pic. 43

Pants
(in grey color, use a 2,5 mm crochet hook)

Pay attention! If your duck's belly measures more than 19 cm at its widest part,
then take a 3 mm crochet hook.

44 45 46

Crochet the pants from bottom to top.

For the first pant leg make a ch18, join it in a circle with sl st
(make sure the chain is not twisted).

Return to the grey thread and crochet 2 sc. For the

first strap make a ch20, next we will form the
buttonhole: from the second ch from the hook crochet
2 sl st, ch2, skip 2 st, beginning from the third st
crochet 15 sl st along the chain. Pic. 50

Please note that my buttonhole is designed for a button with a dia of 6-7 mm,
if you use a button with a larger or smaller diameter, you will need to
calculate the number of loops yourself.

16
51 52 53

Next crochet along the top of the pants to rectangle in the front part. I worked 16 sc.
Crochet 6 sc along the side part of the rectangle, then 9 sc along its top part and 6 sc

Now crochet the second strap as the first, then 4 sc along the top of the pants, sl st.
Cut the thread, weave it in the ends. Pic. 51-53

54

Sew two buttons as shown in the pic. 54

Embroidery of carrots
For embroidery I use orange thread YarnArt Jeans. Divide the thread into 4 thin
strands and use 3 of 4. Embroidery is made in the technique of "French knot".

55 56 57

I randomly embroidered 10 “carrots” on the front of the pants. Pic. 55-57

17
58

Then make above each “carrot” several stitches with

green thread YarnArt Jeans. Divide the thread into 4 thin
strands and use 2 of them. Pic. 58
