The CH 1 never counts as a stitch.

SC - Single crochet
Number 2 is a tank top style (2 slightly

The stitch repeat for the starting FSC
is multiple of 12+1 and needs to fit
your nipple-to-nipple measurement
with the tape measure lying flat across
the chest when measuring.
The increased stitch pattern is a 4-row
repeat.
The straight edge stitch pattern is a 6-
row repeat.
Pattern Gauge
Create a FSC of 13 and create the diagram as below.

13 stitches across the row = 4 inches/10cm in width.

7 rows including the FSC setup row = 3.5 inches/9cm in length.

Tips and tricks for changing your gauge:

Keep in mind that the gauge is not essential as the design is made to measure. However, if you do
not match gauge, the yarn amount may differ.
If you do not match gauge and you need to work out your stitch count for your measurements,
you can simply measure your own gauge width and multiple that width by your own
measurements to work out how many FSC you need to start with.

If you find your swatch pattern is larger, then reduce your hook size.
If your find your swatch pattern is smaller, then increase your hook size.
Make sure your yarn weight is the same as mine.
When measuring your gauge, make sure you do not stretch the yarn.
Sizing guide
Measurements you need to take for the halter style top:

Nipple -nipple, lying flat across the chest (picture number 3).
Around the front of your waist/stomach and across to each side of the back
where you would like the straight edging of the top to start for the corset tie
back (pictures number 1 and 2).

Measurements you need to take for the tank style top:

Nipple to nipple (picture number 3).

Bust (picture number 4)
Step 1:
Setup for both styles

Create a FSC that is a multiple of 12+1 that fits your measurements of nipple-nipple (lying flat
across the breasts).
If you cannot get a multiple of 12 to fit exactly the measurements as above, just add less or
more chains and get to it as near as you can. It doesn't matter if the chain is smaller or
longer as the pattern will increase over your breasts anyway, or you can just wear it higher
up to your neck.
For the sample size (small UK 8) I created a FSC of 25 (multiple 12+1).
See below if you do not know how to create an FSC:
CH 2, insert your hook in the 2nd CH from hook, pull up a loop, YO, draw through 1 loop (this will
be the CH). YO, draw through 2 loops left on the hook (this is the SC). *Insert your hook under the
2 loops of the CH stitch you created on the last stitch and pull up a loop, YO, draw through 1 loop
(2nd CH), YO over and draw through the last 2 loops on the hook (this is your 2nd SC), repeat **
until the number of FSC you need.
Step 2:
Increased sides

Below is the chart you need to follow, create the setup row first and then repeat rows 1-4 on the
diagram until your desired length of increases on the sides.
See below measurements for each top style:
Halter style - Increase until desired width of the measurements you took from pictures
number 1 and 2 on the size guide and finish on row 2 of the increase.
Tank top - Repeat the increase until desired width of your bust divide 2 and finish on row 2
of the increase repeat.

Setup row

Repeat = multiple of 12 +1

For the sample size halter top, I had 15 rows including the setup
row for my desired increase.

For the tank top, I had 11 rows including the setup row for my
desired increase.
Step 3:
Straight sides

Below is the chart you need to follow, starting with row 1, repeat rows 1-6 until desired length
of tops and cut and tie off your yarn.
If you are making the tank style top, repeat steps 1-3 until you have 2 identical panels
(front and back).

For the sample size halter top, I had 12 rows of the repeat for my desired
length of top.

For the tank top, I also had 12 rows of the repeat for my desired length of top.

Tank style

Step 4:
Halter style top only
Skip to step 5 if making the tank top.

Rejoin your yarn to the right side at the top of the top and *create a CH that is long enough to
go over your shoulder and join into the top of your straight section at the back and long enough
to go back and forth through stitches across both straight sides of the top (see pictures below).
CH 1 extra and turn your work and place 1 SC into each CH across until you meet back at the
top of the top*, create a row of SC across the neckline of the top until you meet the left corner of
the top and repeat **, once you meet back at the top, SL ST into the last stitch on that corner
and cut and tie off your yarn and this has finished your halter top.

See the picture below of how to tie up the corset back.

Step 5:
Tank top style only

Lay both panels (front and back) on top of each other and either SL ST or hand sew the straight
sides together on each side of the top. Turn your work inside out so the seams are in the inside
of the top.
*At the right corner at the top of your top, rejoin your yarn and create a CH that is long enough
to fit to the top of your shoulder and tie in a bow, CH 1 extra and turn your work and place 1 SC
into each CH across until you meet back at the top, create 1 SC into each stitch across the
neckline of the top until you meet the left corner and create another CH that is the same as the
1st CH, CH 1 extra, turn and place 1 SC into each CH across until you meet back at the top, SL
ST into the top and cut and tie off your yarn.*
Turn your top over, so you're now working on the other panel and repeat ** until you have 2
identical front panels and 4 identical ties.

This has finished your tank top style.
