    Literature Review

    Waste management is one of the primary problems the Philippines is facing right now, one of

    the major problems is the lack of proper collection, transportation, and disposal of waste, which results in

    serious environmental issues including littering and illegal dumping. A research study shows that 52% of

    waste in the Philippines are biodegradable wastes. Therefore, just by making a compost bin in our school,

    we can help in decreasing this percentage. In addition to that, some students in our school, disposes their

    waste improperly showing a lack of discipline and a sense of irresponsibility.

    Waste management practices in schools can reduce pollution and reduce the amount of waste,

    including plastic waste. We can maintain cleanliness and safety in our school just by practicing proper

    waste management by simply throwing garbage properly, and recycling.

    VI . Conclusion

    The research result shows that compost can reduce biodegradable waste, landfill waste and

    chemical waste. It can reduce also the effect of carbon sequestration — practice of removal of carbon

    dioxide in the atmosphere — and can help reduce climate change. Moreover, our compost can be an

    organic fertilizer for farmers and gardeners.

    This research and experiment also demonstrates that anyone can help with our environmental

    issues without needing to spend a vast amount of money. Also, the product can be used to make our fruits

    and vegetables more organic and not needing any chemicals. This product is easy to do therefore, farmers

    and other people can do it in their own houses and follow their own plan without doing much work.
    Our group intended to suggest that students may also participate in making compost in our

    school. This aims to reduce our biodegradable waste and provide valuable educational opportunities for

    students like us.
