FeSO4

The document details a systematic qualitative analysis of a crystalline salt, identifying its acidic and basic radicals. The analysis concludes that the acidic radical is sulfate (SO4) and the basic radical is iron (Fe). Various dry and wet tests were conducted to confirm the presence or absence of specific radicals.

5. Ring test for NO -3:  No characteristic brown ring. -
 NO3 is absent.
To the salt solution freshly prepared
FeSO4 solution is added. The test tube is
held under tap water to maintain cold
condition. To this solution conc H2SO4 is
added to the side of the test tube in the
inclined condition slowly.

the tube is scratched with glass rod.

ANALYSIS OF GROUP – III A PRECIPITATE

The Precipitate obtained in this group is treated with NaOH and H2O2. The mixture is boiled and filtered.

Residue Filtrate
The residue is divided into two parts. To the filtrate Solid NH4Cl is added and the mixture is
heated to boil.
The first part is dissolved in dil HCI and to it Potassium
