Short Answers

1. Briefly describe the positive impact of AI in our daily life.

AI positively impacts daily life by enabling personalized recommendations (e.g., Netflix), virtual
assistants (e.g., Siri, Alexa), and smart home automation (e.g., adjusting lighting and temperature). It
also enhances healthcare diagnostics and streamlines transportation with self-driving cars.
2. Differentiate between supervised and unsupervised machine learning.
o Supervised Learning: Uses labeled data to train models. Example: Predicting house prices
based on past data.
o Unsupervised Learning: Works with unlabeled data to find patterns. Example: Grouping
customers based on purchasing behavior (clustering).
3. Describe how computer vision applications help in automation of tasks.
Computer vision automates tasks like object recognition, facial recognition, and quality inspection. For
example, it helps self-driving cars detect pedestrians and traffic signals, and automates manufacturing
by identifying defective products.
4. Compare the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) with computer languages for interaction
with computers.
NLP enables computers to understand and respond to human language naturally, such as in chatbots or
voice assistants. Computer languages like Python or Java require structured programming commands,
making NLP more intuitive for non-technical users.

5. What is a robot? Mention four areas where robots can replace humans that are not mentioned in
this unit.
A robot is a machine programmed to perform tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously. Robots can
replace humans in:
o Deep-sea exploration.
o Mining hazardous materials.
o Handling infectious medical waste.
o Repairing underwater pipelines.
6. Is the use of Grammarly AI tool a perfect replacement for manual proofreading?
Grammarly is not a perfect replacement for manual proofreading. While it detects grammatical errors
and improves style, it may miss context-specific nuances, cultural appropriateness, or creative tone
adjustments that require human expertise.

Long Answers

1. Relate how AI can be beneficial in education and business.

 In Education:
AI enhances personalized learning by analyzing student progress and recommending tailored content.
For example, platforms like Duolingo adapt to learners’ pace. AI-powered tools, such as automatic
grading systems, reduce the workload of teachers and provide instant feedback to students. Virtual
tutors make education accessible in remote areas.
 In Business:
AI optimizes operations through predictive analytics, enhancing decision-making. Chatbots improve
customer service by handling queries 24/7. AI also helps in inventory management and fraud detection
in financial sectors, increasing efficiency and reducing costs.

2. Articulate how AI-based technology can improve healthcare professionals and assist farmers in
increasing crop production.

 In Healthcare:
AI aids healthcare professionals by diagnosing diseases using medical imaging (e.g., detecting tumors
in X-rays) and predicting patient outcomes through data analysis. AI-driven robotic surgery enhances
precision and reduces human error. Virtual health assistants monitor patient health and provide
reminders for medications.
 In Agriculture:
AI helps farmers by analyzing soil quality, weather forecasts, and crop health using drones and sensors.
AI-powered systems recommend optimal planting schedules and pest control methods, improving crop
yield. Automated machinery like self-driving tractors reduces manual labor.

3. Categorize the benefits of cloud computing and contrast between public and private clouds.

 Benefits of Cloud Computing:

o Cost Efficiency: Reduces the need for expensive hardware.
o Scalability: Resources can be scaled up or down based on demand.

CLASS 9TH COMPUTER CHAPTER WISE EXCERCISE

o Accessibility: Data and applications are accessible from anywhere.

o Disaster Recovery: Ensures data safety during outages.
 Public Cloud vs. Private Cloud:
o Public Cloud: Hosted by third-party providers; shared infrastructure. Example: AWS,
Microsoft Azure. Benefits include lower costs and easy scalability.
o Private Cloud: Exclusive to one organization; hosted on-premises or by a private provider.
Offers better control, security, and customization but at a higher cost.

4. Compare traditional algorithms and AI-based algorithms that use machine learning. Criticize AI-
based algorithms for producing wrong results at times.

 Comparison:
o Traditional Algorithms: Follow predefined rules and logic to solve problems. Example:
Sorting or searching algorithms. These require explicit programming.
o AI-Based Algorithms: Learn patterns from data to make predictions or decisions. Example:
Image recognition models. They adapt over time but require large datasets for accuracy.
 Criticism:
AI-based algorithms can produce wrong results due to biased or insufficient training data, leading to
flawed predictions. For example, biased AI in hiring systems may disadvantage certain groups. They
also lack explainability, making it hard to understand how decisions are made.

5. Interpret the ethical issues in using the following AI tools:

 a) ChatGPT:
Ethical concerns include the spread of misinformation, as it may provide incorrect or fabricated
answers. There’s also a risk of misuse for generating harmful content or plagiarized material.
 b) LovoAI:
LovoAI, used for voice generation, raises ethical questions about deepfake audio, which can be
exploited for scams or impersonation. Copyright infringement issues arise if voices are cloned without
consent.
 c) Virtual Assistant:
Privacy concerns arise as virtual assistants like Alexa or Google Assistant record and analyze user
conversations. They may inadvertently share sensitive information or be hacked, compromising user
security.

Proper regulations and transparency in AI design and usage are essential to mitigate these ethical challenges.
