Food for the Chakras

Chakras are spinning “wheels of light” or energy centers in the body that start at the root
chakra at the base of the spine, and travel up to the crown chakra at the top of your head,
stopping at five other points along the way. When your chakras are open and operating at
their fullest, they draw fresh energy in from the unified field that replenishes and nourishes
your personal energy field and keeps you healthy. Chakras are our energy centers. They are
the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura. Their function is to vitalize the
physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. They are
associated with our physical, mental and emotional interactions.

The 7 chakras of the human body govern the circulation of energy and the related physical as
well mental wellness within the entire system. You need to consume different kinds of food
groups to feed your specific chakras. This can help in restoration of the original functions of
these chakras and in turn cure any associated ailments. Now that you are aware of the
importance of chakra balancing foods, make sure to add them to your diet. Chakras have
been depicted as a funnel of sorts with smaller funnels within the funnel. They are also often
referred to as looking like lotus flowers.
The word chakra is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning wheel. If we were able to see the
chakras as many (psychics, in fact, do) we would observe a wheel of energy continuously
revolving or rotating. Clairvoyants perceive chakras as colorful wheels or flowers with a hub in
the center. The chakras begin at the base of the spine and finish at the top of the head.
Though fixed in the central spinal column they are located on both the front and back of the
body, and work through it. Each chakra vibrates or rotates at a different speed. The root or
first chakra rotates at the slowest speed, the crown or seventh chakra at the highest speed.
Each chakra is stimulated by its own and complimentary color, and a range of gemstones for
specific uses. The chakra colors are of the rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo,
and violet. The size and brightness of the wheels vary with individual development, physical
condition, energy levels, disease, or stress.

If the chakras are not balanced, or if the energies are blocked, the basic life force will be
slowed down. The individual may feel listless, tired, out of sorts, or depressed. Not only will
physical bodily functions be affected so diseases may manifest, but the thought processes
and the mind may also be affected. A negative attitude, fear, doubt, etc. may preoccupy the
individual. A constant balance between the chakras promotes health and a sense of well-
being.

If the chakras are opened to much, a person could literally short circuit themselves with too
much universal energy going through the body. If the chakras are closed, this does not allow
for the universal energy to flow through them properly which may also lead to dis-ease. Most
of us react to unpleasant experiences by blocking our feeling and stopping a great deal of our
natural energy flow.

This affects the maturation and development of the chakras. Whenever a person blocks
whatever experience he is having, he in turn blocks his chakras, which eventually become
disfigured. When the chakras are functioning normally, each will be open, spinning clockwise
to metabolize the particular energies needed from the universal energy field. Any imbalances
that exist within any chakra may have profound effects upon either our physical or emotional
bodies.

First / Root Chakra – Muladhara in Sanskrit. The root chakra is located at the base of the
spine at the tailbone in back, and the pubic bone in front. This center holds the basic needs
for survival, security and safety. The root chakra is powerfully related to our contact with the
Earth Mother, providing us with the ability to be grounded into the earth plane. This is also the
center of manifestation. When you are trying to make things happen in the material world,
business or material possessions, the energy to succeed will come from the first chakra. If this
chakra is blocked an individual may feel fearful, anxious, insecure and frustrated. Problems
like obesity, anorexia nervosa, and knee troubles can occur. Root body parts include the hips,
legs, lower back and sexual organs. The colors used for this chakra are red, brown and black.
The gemstones are Garnet, Smoky Quartz, Obsidian, and Black Tourmaline.

The root chakra is the grounding force that allows us to connect to the earth energies and
empower our beings.

A man¹s sexual organs are located primarily in his first chakra, so male sexual energy is
usually experienced primarily as physical. A women’s sexual organs are located primarily in
her second chakra, so female sexual energy is usually experienced primarily as emotional.
Both chakras are associated with sexual energy.
Second /Sacral Chakra – Swadhisthana. The second chakra is often referred to as the belly
or sacral chakra. It is located two inches below the navel and is rooted into the spine. This
center holds the basic needs for sexuality, creativity, intuition, and self-worth. This chakra is
also about friendliness, creativity, and emotions. It governs people’s sense of self-worth, their
confidence in their own creativity, and their ability to relate to others in an open and friendly
way. It¹s influenced by how emotions were expressed or repressed in the family during
childhood. Proper balance in this chakra means the ability to flow with emotions freely and to
feel and reach out to others sexually or not. If this chakra is blocked a person may feel
emotionally explosive, manipulative, obsessed with thoughts of sex or may lack energy.
Physical problems may include, kidney weakness, stiff lower back, constipation, and muscle
spasms. Belly body parts include sexual organs (women), kidneys, bladder, and large
intestine. The main color used with this chakra is orange. The gemstones are Carnelian
Agate, Orange Calcite and Tigers Eye. Orange is a very high energy color. Its creativity juices
are extremely intoxicating and sweet tasting. Wearing orange is fun and can make you feel
quite playful. Artists love dabbling with orange hues. Orange screams with sexual energy too,
not surprising since orange is associated with the sacral chakra. Because of its highly-
charged intensity some people cannot comfortably wear this color. Adorning yourself with an
orange accent piece can add a hint of playfulness. A well-functioning sacral chakra helps
maintain a healthy yin-yang balance. Although the sacral chakras is primarily considered the
sexual energy center, it is also the center where individual creativity resides.

Third /Solar Plexus Chakra – Manipura. The third chakra is referred to as the solar plexus
chakra. It is located two inches below the breastbone in the center behind the stomach. The
third chakra is the center of personal power, the place of ego, of passions, impulses, anger
and strength. It is also the center for astral travel and astral influences, receptivity of spirit
guides and for psychic development. When the Third Chakra is out of balance you may lack
confidence, be confused, worry about what others think, feel that others are controlling your
life, and may be depressed. The solar plexus chakra defines our self-esteem. The personality
(EGO) that develops during puberty is housed in this chakra. Physical problems may include
digestive difficulties, liver problems, diabetes, nervous exhaustion, and food allergies. When
balanced you may feel cheerful, outgoing, have self-respect, expressive, enjoy taking on new
challenges, and have a strong sense of personal power. The body parts for this chakra
include the stomach, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, and small intestine. The main color for this
chakra is yellow. The gemstones are Citrine, Topaz, and Yellow Calcite. The solar plexus
chakra defines our self-esteem. The personality (EGO) that develops during puberty is
housed in this chakra. In opening your third chakra, you may reach deep into your own sense
of self and find your balance or boundary point. This point is the use of personal power as a
weaver of inner and outer power. You have the power to create and accomplish, rather than
the power over something or someone. In other words, you have the ability to manifest in the
physical world.

Fourth /Heart Chakra – Anahata. The fourth chakra is referred to as the heart chakra. It is
located behind the breast bone in front and on the spine between the shoulder blades in back.
This is the center for love, compassion and spirituality. This center directs one¹s ability to love
themselves and others, to give and to receive love. This is also the chakra connecting body
and mind with spirit. Almost everyone today has a hard, hurt, or broken heart, and it is no
accident that heart disease is the number one killer in America today. Deep heart hurts can
result in aura obstructions called heart scars. When these scars are released, they raise a lot
of old pain, but free the heart for healing and new growth. When this chakra is out of balance
you may feel sorry for yourself, paranoid, indecisive, afraid of letting go, afraid of getting hurt,
or unworthy of love. Physical illnesses include heart attack, high blood pressure, insomnia,
and difficulty in breathing. When this chakra is balanced you may feel compassionate,
friendly, empathetic, desire to nurture others and see the good in everyone. Body parts for the
fourth chakra include heart, lungs, circulatory system, shoulders, and upper back. The main
colors used are pink and green. The gemstones are Rose Quartz, Kunzite, and Watermelon
tourmaline.

Fifth/Throat Chakra – Vishuddha. The fifth chakra is referred to as the throat chakra. It is
located in the V of the collarbone at the lower neck and is the center of communication,
sound, and expression of creativity via thought, speech, and writing. The possibility for
change, transformation and healing are located here. The throat is where anger is stored and
finally let go of. When this chakra is out of balance you may want to hold back, feel timid, be
quiet, feel weak, or can¹t express your thoughts. Physical illnesses or ailments include,
hyperthyroid, skin irritations, ear infections, sore throat, inflammations, and back pain. When
this chakra is balanced you may feel balanced, centered, musically or artistically inspired, and
may be a good speaker. Body parts for the fifth chakra are throat, neck, teeth, ears, and
thyroid gland. The main color used is light blue. The gemstones are Aquamarine and Azurite.
The throat chakra is our voice center. It is through our spoken word that we express ourselves
to others. The healthfulness of this chakra is signified by how openly and honestly a person
expresses himself or herself. A challenge to the throat chakra is for us to express ourselves in
the most truthful manner. Falsehoods and half-truths energetically pollute the throat chakra.
This behavior violates both our bodies and spirits. Repressing our anger or displeasure by
ignoring our feelings through evasive sweet talk, or silence, will manifest into throat
imbalances such as strep throat, laryngitis, speech impediments, and so on.

Sixth / Third Eye Chakra – Ajna. The sixth chakra is referred to as the third eye or brow
chakra. It is located above the physical eyes on the center of the forehead. This is the center
for psychic ability, higher intuition, the energies of spirit and light. It also assists in the
purification of negative tendencies and in the elimination of selfish attitudes. Through the
power of the sixth chakra, you can receive guidance, channel, and tune into your Higher Self.
When this chakra is not balanced you may feel non-assertive, afraid of success, or go the
opposite way and be egotistical. Physical symptoms may include headaches, blurred vision,
blindness, and eyestrain. When this chakra is balanced and open you are your own master
with no fear of death, are not attached to material things, and may experience telepathy,
astral travel, and past lives. Sixth chakra body parts include the eyes, face, and brain,
lymphatic and endocrine system. The main colors are purple and dark blue. The gemstones
are Amethyst, Sodalite, and Lapis Lazuli.

Seventh / Crown Chakra – Sahasrara. The seventh chakra is referred to as the crown
chakra. It is located just behind the top of the skull. It is the center of spirituality,
enlightenment, dynamic thought and energy. It allows for the inward flow of wisdom, and
brings the gift of cosmic consciousness. This is also the center of connection with the
Goddess (God), the place where life animates the physical body. The silver cord that
connects the aura bodies extends from the crown. The soul comes into the body through the
crown at birth and leaves from the crown at death. When this chakra is unbalanced there may
be a constant sense of frustration, no spark of joy, and destructive feelings. Illnesses may
include migraine headaches and depression. Balanced energy in this chakra may include the
ability to open up to the Divine and total access to the unconscious and subconscious. The
main colors for the crown are white and purple. The gemstones are Clear Quartz Crystal,
Oregon Opal, and Amethyst.

Chakras are our energy centers. They are the openings for life energy to flow into and out of
our aura. Their function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of
our self-consciousness. Chakras are associated with a spectrum of vibration, from the denser
vibration of the body to the finer vibration of the spirit, it would seem that the frequency carried
by individual foods could impact our energy. We might find that we need multiple different
vibrations to balance the various parts of us, perhaps we need some grounding in the root,
some expansion in the heart, and a bit of opening in our sense of connection with others and
divinity. They are associated with our physical, mental and emotional interactions. There are
seven major chakras. The aura is often referred to as the eighth chakra. The first chakra (root)
actually hangs outside of your body. It is located between your thighs, about halfway between
your knees and your physical body. The seven chakra (crown) is located on the top of your
head. The remaining chakras, (sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, and third eye, are aligned in
sequence along your spine, neck, and skull. Individually, your chakras look similar to funnels
with petal-like openings. Chakras are invisible to the human eye, but they can be perceived
intuitively by trained energy workers.Eating is personal. Not every food is for every body at all
times. It is refreshing to see that personalized nutrition, or matching our genes to our food
choices, is now at the frontier of western medicine. As an adjunct to the genes which map
closely to our physical body, it would seem that we also need to eat for our subtle body and all
the parts of us we don’t see outright, but have their energetic imprint in our physical
manifestations. Our subtle energy is constantly sculpting in every moment which calls into
question the validity of following a plain, prescriptive diet for a lifetime. If we are a dynamic
being, shouldn’t our eating be as fluid and flexible? Subtle energy moves faster than matter
and sets the template of the physical body. What if we were to consciously redefine our
physical body by assessing our subtle energy needs? One of the ways we might venture to do
this is through one of our internal subtle energy gauges – our chakras, or the portals in our
being that align to the seven major endocrine glands. “Chakra” is an ancient Sanskrit term
that means “wheel”. Essentially, these gateways are moving spirals of energy exchange. But
they are more than that literal meaning – they can also be interpreted symbolically, aligning to
the seven aspects of the self:

 The root chakra, which is associated with the adrenal glands, corresponds to instinct
and survival;
 The sacral chakra (ovaries and testes) to emotions and creativity;
 The solar plexus chakra (pancreas) to empowerment and transformation;
 The heart chakra (heart and thymus) to love and gratitude;
 The throat chakra (thyroid) to truth and authenticity;
 The third eye chakra (pituitary) to wisdom and intuition;
 The crown chakra (pineal gland) to interconnection and spirituality

Chakras are our energy centers. Chakras (Sanskrit for “wheels”) are subtle centers in the
energetic system of a living organism that take in and give out energy. Health is determined
by the flow of energy from the 7 chakras into the metabolic network of the body. Blocked
chakras, due to emotional, mental, and/or spiritual issues, can restrict energy flow and lead to
illness. These openings allow our life energy to flow into and out of our aura. The seven major
chakras are associated with our physical, mental and emotional interactions. The first chakra
(root) actually hangs outside of your body. It is located between your thighs, about halfway
between your knees and your physical body. The seventh chakra (crown) is located on the
top of your head. The remaining chakras, (sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, and third eye),
are aligned in sequence along your spine, neck, and skull. Chakras are invisible to the human
eye, but they can be perceived intuitively by trained energy workers.

Chakras are energy centers with a living pulse. Energy is not static, energy is in constant flux.
Chakras not only open and close, they will also expand and retract. When a chakra expands
the boundaries separating it from its neighboring chakra/s can become blurred. As the
chakras move and interact with one another the colorful imagery might remind you of peering
through a kaleidoscope.

It is not unusual for the sacral and root chakras to intermingle and display a brilliant blood-
orange color. The heart and throat chakras may merge and display beautiful blue-green
shades when you are singing from the heart.

When a stressed chakra is shutting down, a healthier chakra will often expand to compensate
for the lowering of the whole energy system. The chakras are typically team players. Still, it is
not healthy for any one player in a team to pull more than his share of the weight for
prolonged periods. Expansion for the sake of picking up the slack will eventually put strain on
the relationship. Ultimately, the whole team will suffer. And in the case of your chakras, when
the chakras are not functioning together optimally as a healthy team illness and disease
manifests. Foods—especially foods that share colors with the chakras—carry vibrations that
can activate or balance your chakras. Explore this gallery to find out which health conditions
are associated with which chakra, and learn how to choose foods to bring your chakras into
balance.
Because everything in the Universe is Energy or vibration of the Energy, the Human Body is
expression of that Energy in the Mater or better in the material world. This Energy, Cosmic
Energy is entering the Human Body threw energy vortex or chakras. Each Chakra or energy
vortex in our body is connected with specific organs or endocrine gland which is of major
importance for normal or harmonious function of the whole body as a unite. Each chakra rules
over a different part of your body and different areas of your life, so if a chakra is out of
whack, the body parts and life arenas it rules will also become imbalanced. For example, the
heart chakra is connected to the lungs, the circulatory system, and your heart, and rules
relationships and your ability to give and receive love. If your heart chakra is distorted, you
may have trouble maintaining healthy relationships and find it difficult to allow love into your
life. If the fourth chakra remains imbalanced for long enough, you could develop physical
symptoms like breathing problems or asthma, or even suffer a heart attack or breast cancer.
For better understanding of this connection we should see the below map.

Root Chakra is the grounding force that allows us to connect to the earth energies and
empower our beings. The root chakra is related to the anus and the adrenal glands. When
poorly grounded, your spatial understanding is impaired. You may stumble around physically,
mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Grounding enhances your ability to function effectively
on a day-to-day basis. When the root chakra is blocked an individual may feel fearful,
anxious, insecure and frustrated. Problems like obesity, anorexia nervosa, and knee troubles
can occur. Root body parts include the hips, legs, lower back and sexual organs.

Responsible for body systems that provide physical structure, allowing for meaningful contact
with the Earth: joints, bones, muscle, legs, and feet. Oversees the “boundaries” of the body
through an internal and external defense system represented by the immune system and skin.
Root Chakra Healing Foods: Protein (especially animal protein), root vegetables, edible and
medicinal mushrooms, red-colored foods (apples, pomegranates, etc)

Sacral Chakra affects the sexual organs. The functions associated with this center are
emotion, vitality, fertility, reproduction, and sexual energy in general. Likewise, any problems
in these functions can be identified and resolved through this chakra. The physical
transmission of rhythmic energy to the sacral chakra removes any blockages that may
hamper these functions. A well-functioning sacral chakra helps maintain a healthy yin-yang
balance. Although the sacral chakras is primarily considered the sexual energy center, it is
also the center where individual creativity resides.

Responsible for the liquid functions of the body: kidneys, bladder, large intestine. Oversees
the “creativity” of the body through the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries, as well as cell
division and growth.

Sacral Chakra Healing Foods: Fats and oils, fish (especially wild-caught salmon), tropical
fruits, seeds, nuts, orange-colored foods (oranges, tangerines,

Solar Plexus Chakra is related to the digestive organs. It is associated with action, assertion,
empowerment, and ego mastery. It is the area where chi or life force is stored. Malfunctions in
the navel chakra may leave you feeling tired, powerless, and withdrawn. The solar plexus is
the driving force to act and to complete the conceptualization, the visualization that we have in
our lives. It is where we find the human talent of commitment. Responsible for the
transformative functions of the body, including the digestive organs: esophagus, stomach,
pancreas, small intestines, liver, and gallbladder. Oversees the “energy exchange” of the
body through the generation of ATP, the body’s physical currency of energy, which is supplied
by cell structures known as mitochondria (often referred to as “powerhouses of the cell”).

Solar Plexus Chakra Healing Foods: Carbohydrates (complex), fiber, whole grains,
legumes, yellow-colored foods (yellow sweet peppers, yellow lentils, corn, etc.)

Heart Chakra is considered to be the love center of our human energy system. Among
others, love, heartbreak, grief, pain, and fear, are all emotions that are felt intensely within this
energy vortex. The heart stands at the center of all energies and unifies our being as a whole.
It is the point around which all the energies turn. A discord or imbalance in the heart chakra
will adversely affect all the other centers. A clearing of the heart chakra will improve the
interaction of all the other centers. It is important to maintain a balance to all the energy
centers so a healthy level of awareness is manifested in our everyday lives. When the heart
chakra is out of balance you may feel sorry for yourself, paranoid, indecisive, afraid of letting
go, afraid of getting hurt, or unworthy of love. Physical illnesses include heart attack, high
blood pressure, insomnia, and difficulty in breathing. When the heart chakra is balanced you
may feel compassionate, friendly, empathetic, desire to nurture others and see the good in
everyone. Body parts for the fourth chakra include heart, lungs, circulatory system, shoulders,
and upper back.

Responsible for the circulatory functions of the body, including the heart, lungs, lymphatic
system, and blood vessels. Oversees the “nurturing” functions of the body through the
breasts, shoulders, arms, and hands.

Heart Chakra Healing Foods: Vegetables (especially cruciferous vegetables like broccoli,
kale, cabbage, and leafy greens), sprouts, raw foods, foods rich in chlorophyll, plant
compounds like phytoestrogens and phytosterols, any green-colored foods.
Throat Chakra is associated with the vocal cords and the thyroid gland. It is the chakra of
communication, telepathy, and creative expression. Unexpressed emotions tend to constrict
this energy center. Your inner truth is your sense of what is correct-your innate tendencies
and inclinations. In every situation, we should be humble, open, and receptive, suspending all
previous judgments in order to grasp the inner truth of the matter. If we rely on the truth of our
inner voice to guide us, our actions will be in accord with the times. The throat chakra is our
voice center. It is through our spoken word that we express ourselves to others. The
healthfulness of this chakra is signified by how openly and honestly a person expresses
himself or herself. A challenge to the throat chakra is for us to express ourselves in the most
truthful manner. Falsehoods and half-truths energetically pollute the throat chakra. This
behavior violates both our bodies and spirits. Repressing our anger or displeasure by ignoring
our feelings through evasive sweet talk, or silence, will manifest into throat imbalances such
as strep throat, laryngitis, speech impediments, and so on.

Responsible for the sensory apparatus of the body, including the lips, tongue, nose, mouth,
and ears, as well as the vehicles of voice and breath like the larynx, pharynx, and throat. Also
oversees the “integration” functions of the body through its command of metabolism through
the thyroid gland, and through the coordination of the multitude of functions (e.g. chewing,
swallowing, breathing, smelling, etc.) occurring in the throat area.

Throat Chakra Healing Foods: Seaplants, fruits, juices, soups, sauces, (which bring
together different elements like water and earth), and foods from different ethnic groups (The
throat chakra encourages variety of foods.)

Third Eye Chakra or sixth chakra is that of the brow, third eye, or place of “shamanic seeing.”
Located between and slightly above the eyebrows, it is indigo in color. This energy center is
closely associated with imagination, inner vision, and psychic abilities. It is related to the
pituitary gland. It functions as a link between the inner world and the outer world. Malfunctions
of the brow chakra commonly manifest as headaches and eye tension. Resonating this
chakra remedies any problems in function and opens the door to a reality separate from the
ordinary world. The third eye chakra is also called “brow chakra.” Our mental calculations and
thinking processes are functions of the third eye chakra. We are able to evaluate our past
experiences and life patterns and put them into perspective through the wisdom of the third
chakra’s actions. Our ability to separate reality from fantasy or delusion is connected to the
healthfulness of this chakra. It is through a receptive brow chakra that auric hues and other
visual images are intuited clairvoyantly.

Responsible for hormone function and secretion, sleep/wake cycles, and dreaming. Oversees
the “perception” functions of the body through the brain, eyes, and neurotransmitters.

Third Eye Chakra Healing Foods: Caffeine, tea, chocolate, spices, wine, purple-red foods
(purple potatoes, red onions, blackberries, blueberries, purple grapes, etc.)

Crown Chakra or the seventh bis located at the top of the head. The Hopi call this energy
center kopavi, meaning “the open door” through which higher spiritual knowledge is received.
The crown chakra is associated with the pineal gland, the color violet, full enlightenment, and
union with the cosmos. When functioning optimally, the crown chakra allows inner
communications with our spiritual nature to take place. The opening in the crown chakra
(located in the same area as the soft spot on a baby’s head) serves as an entryway wherein
the Universal Life Force can enter our bodies and be dispersed downward into the lower six
chakras housed below it. This chakra is often depicted as a lotus flower with its petals open to
represent spiritual awakening. The crown chakra could also be considered the bottomless
well from which intuitive knowledge is drawn.
Responsible for infusing the body with life force, allowing the entire individual to function as a
divine creature, intelligent and connected to Spirit. Oversees the “electrical” functions of the
body through the central nervous system.

Crown Chakra Healing Foods: Since the crown chakra is more “spirit” than “matter,” it is not
nourished with physical foods in the same way that they feed other chakras, but the crown
chakra thrives on the sustenance that comes from sunlight, air, and love.

Each individual sector or portion of the fingertip is connected energetically with specific
organs and organ systems such as the respiratory system. When the data of the 10 individual
BIO-grams are collated and interpolated, an image of the entire full body energy field is
created. An example of the full body energy field from both a healthy and
unhealthy/emotionally unbalanced individual are shown below. The gaps, reduced emissions
and out of balance Chakras for the unhealthy individual are quite obvious.

The physical realm can affect our chakras and our chakras can affect our physical
reality: They are meant to work in harmony together. As a result, food can directly affect how
your chakras work and likewise, the cravings you get and the meals you prefer to eat can also
reflect the health of your chakra system. You may have heard the phrases “eat the rainbow”
and “the darker the food the better it is for you,” and there’s certainly some truth to them
because of how they relate to the chakras. When you are thinking about your chakra system
you probably aren’t considering the types of foods that you consume. Because our chakras
are energy vortexes and invisible to most of us one might well imagine that chakras would
thrive on energy, prayer, or other such spiritual stuff… you know, those things that we can’t
see with the human eye. However, the chakras cannot sustain our human body without our
help. It is important to feed and nourish the flesh in order to help support and fuel our energy
body. Whenever one or more of your chakras is misaligned you might do well to review your
diet choices to see if you are not eating or possibly overeating the foods that fuel that
particular chakra.
Root Chakra -Muladhara.

The root chakra is the grounding force that allows us to connect to the earth energies and
empower our beings.
Location: Base of Spine
Color: Red

This chakra is located at the base of your spine and acts as your foundation, your roots, your
connection to the physical world. When your first chakra is imbalanced, you may not feel safe
in your body or be stressed. Since this chakra is all about grounding you to the earth, root
vegetables are a good choice. Beets, rutabagas, garlic, ginger, turnips, potatoes, and
parsnips are just a few of the many options for root veggies. Try them roasted with salt and
olive oil for an easy grounding meal that is also delicious! Protein, especially red meat, is also
grounding, and red food like apples or pomegranates corresponds with the color of this
chakra and can help to recharge your roots.

Food: Root vegetables, protein-rich foods, hot and peppery spices.

Grounding / Anchoring

Root vegetables: carrots, potatoes, parsnips, radishes, beets, onions, garlic, etc.

Protein-rich foods: eggs, meats, beans, tofu, soy products, peanut butter

Spices: horseradish, hot paprika, chives, cayenne, pepper. The Base or Root Chakra is
associated with the color red. This chakra is the grounding force that allows us to connect to
the earth energies and empower our beings. Focusing one’s attention on the color of a cherry
Popsicle or a juicy red apple can help bring our energetic body down to earth and in alignment
with our physical body when we find ourselves energetically fleeting or in other
words… spacing off.

Sacral Chakra – Swadhisthana

Supporting the Sexual/Creativity Center

Location: Lower Abdomen

Color: Orange

Just below your navel sits your second chakra, which governs sexuality and emotions. The
second chakra’s element is water, so pure water is the best thing you can ingest to clear and
heal this chakra. Liquids in general are a good bet, especially transparent liquids like teas and
broths, so be sure to keep hydrated if your second chakra is imbalanced. The color of this
chakra is orange, so orange foods, especially carrots, oranges, and orange juice, can be
healing. Luscious, juicy fruits can also help to charge this chakra, so have some melon,
mango, or strawberries for a sacral chakra boost.

Sweet fruits: melons, mangos, strawberries, passion fruit, oranges, coconut, etc.

Honey & Nuts: almonds, walnuts, etc.

Spices: cinnamon, vanilla, carob, sweet paprika, sesame seeds, caraway seeds
Solar Plexus – Manipura
Location: Naval
Color: Yellow
The third chakra transforms raw fiery energy into action and is your source of self-esteem.
Sunny yellow foods really help to clear and balance this chakra, especially yellow peppers,
but you can also try corn, yellow lentils, yellow curry, and bananas. Since this chakra converts
energy, it needs foods that are not absorbed too quickly, so avoid sugar, white flour, and
processed foods, if your third chakra is off-kilter. What you want instead is complex
carbohydrates and whole grains that burn more slowly and keep you energized longer.
Boosting Self-Esteem and Encouraging Self-Love

Granola and Grains: pastas, breads, cereal, rices, flax seed, sunflower seeds, etc.

Dairy: milk, cheeses, yogurt

Spices: ginger, mints (peppermint, spearmint, etc.), Melissa, chamomile, turmeric, cumin,
fennel

Heart Chakra – Anahata

Location: Heart
Color: Green or Pink
Your fourth chakra is located at your heart and rules love and relationships. Its color is green,
so green vegetables, especially leafy and cruciferous ones like kale, lettuces, spinach, chard,
bok choy, collard greens, broccoli, etc., really ramp up the energy of this chakra and help to
heal it. The fourth chakra is also about balance, and green veggies are neither yin nor yang in

truth is healing for this chakra, as are blue foods, particularly blueberries, which encourage
expression. Fruits work to balance this chakra, especially fruit that grows on trees like apples,
pears, peaches, apricots, and plums, as they are said to be true to themselves, falling off the
tree when they are ripe and ready and requiring little to no work in order to be enjoyed.

The Root Chakra (Sanskrit: Muladhara Chakra): This chakra resides at the base of the
spine and can be associated with security, family, and feeling grounded. Our primal instincts
and our more Earthly thoughts and actions are tied to the root chakra. If you’re feeling
disconnect from reality or very fatigued, that could mean your root chakra is imbalanced. Any
type of stress related to survival, including financial, professional, and housing
stressors could indicate that you need to realign your root chakra.

The colour associated with the root chakra is red, so any high vibrational foods with a
naturally strong red pigment or grounding properties can help recharge your chakra. Foods
such as tomatoes, strawberries, beets, red apples, pomegranates, raspberries, and even
protein can heal your root chakra!

The Sacral Chakra (Sanskrit: Svhadhisthana Chakra): The sacral chakra

resides just below the naval and is associated with creativity, sexuality, commitment, passion,
and sensitivity. When the sacral chakra is balanced we feel sexual, creative, and comfortable
being expressive. If you’re feeling like you have low libido, a creative block, or are having
reproductive issues or lower back problems, these could all be signs that your sacral chakra
is imbalanced.

The colour associated with the sacral chakra is orange, so any high vibe foods that have a
deep or bright orange colour or are fairly heavy or dense are great for your sacral. This
includes foods like mandarins, mangoes, carrots, squash, pumpkin, yams, seeds, nuts, and
oils!

The Solar Plexus Chakra (Sanskrit: Manipura Chakra): The solar plexus is right above
your naval and reflects your sense of Self, personal power, and self-esteem. When your solar
plexus is balanced, you will have strong self-worth and self-confidence and a greater
understanding of who you are. If your solar plexus is imbalanced, you may be self-conscious
and moody, experiencing self judgement and fearing rejection and flaws in your physical
appearance. You just feel a little less like ‘yourself.’

The colour associated with the solar plexus chakra is yellow; high vibe foods that have a
yellow colour and lighter protein options can help strengthen your solar plexus. Try eating
some bananas, corn on the cob, fresh pineapple, yellow peppers, lentils, yellow squash, and
grains like oats!

The Heart Chakra (Sanskrit: Anahata Chakra): The heart chakra is located in the centre of
the chest and is all about love, gratitude, joy, compassion, and connectivity. When your heart
chakra is balanced, you feel love in all aspects of life and express it freely without being
overbearing. If your heart chakra is underactive, you may be feeling angry, jealous, and bitter,
and if it’s overactive, you may be giving too much of yourself, feeling co-dependent, too
accepting or tolerating, or experiencing difficulty implementing boundaries in your
relationships.

The colour associated with the heart chakra is green; high vibrational foods that are deep
green colours or are simply lighter weight foods like vegetables are great for the heart chakra.
This includes broccoli, kale, chard, and other leafy greens.

The Throat Chakra (Sanskrit: Vishuddha Chakra): The throat chakra is located in the
centre of the throat and is associated with your ability to speak your truth and express your
feelings vocally. If you’re experiencing a block, it may be difficult to communicate with others.
If your throat chakra is imbalanced you may find it difficult to express yourself in all forms of
communication, or likewise experience difficulty stopping communication or listening to
others. A strong throat chakra means you can communicate with ease, you’re honest and
truthful, and you have great listening skills.

The colour related to the throat chakra is light blue, so any high vibe foods with a light blue
colour or super light foods are great for the throat. Blueberries, figs, kelp, and pretty much all
fruit in general work wonders on the throat chakra.

The Third Eye Chakra (Sanskrit: Ajna Chakra): The third eye is located in the centre of
your forehead right above the brow line. Your third eye represents your intuition; your ability to
see the truth, to see through illusions, and to think critically. A strong third eye indicates that
you’re wise, insightful, focused, intuitive, and a seeker of the truth. If you have an overactive
third eye, you may feel lightheaded and frequently daydream. If you have an underactive third
eye, you may have difficulty looking inwards, self-reflecting, and seeing things for what they
truly are.

The colour related to the third eye is dark blue, so high vibe foods with a darker pigment like
a deep blue or purple are great to recharge the third eye, as are extremely light foods. To
strengthen your third eye, try consuming plums, purple grapes, eggplant, purple kale, purple
carrots, or simply tea and other light, all-natural, plant-based beverages.

The Crown Chakra (Sanskrit: Sahasrara Chakra): The crown chakra resides at the centre
of the crown of your head and is related to inner guidance, connection to Source, and
enlightenment. If you have a balanced crown chakra, you will be able to fully live in the
present moment, understand universal truths, and trust your inner Self. If your crown chakra is
imbalanced, you may lack self-awareness, have difficulty meditating, or hold fears and beliefs
that don’t align with the true essence of your being.

The colors associated with the crown chakra are dark purple, violet, and white. It is said that
once enlightenment is obtained, one can live off only the elements. As a result, fasting can be
a wonderful way to recharge your crown chakra. Spending time in nature, being in direct
sunlight, and drinking water can all benefit the crown chakra. Extremely light foods such as
mushrooms, garlic, ginger, onion, lychee, coconut, and other tropical fruits can also be used
to strengthen the crown.
It’s important to note that all of the foods mentioned here are 100% plant-based. Like anything
else, all foods hold a vibration. For example, pesticides, animal products, and processed
foods hold lower vibrations, whereas plants have higher vibrations. The chakras also increase
in frequency as you ascend from the root to the crown. So, the foods associated with each
chakra also increase in frequency as you go up the spine.

It’s still important to eat plant-based foods higher in protein to balance the lower chakras, but
it’s extremely important to eat light, fruit and vegetable dense meals to balance your upper
chakras as well. Ancient Hindu and Yogic texts explain that once the Kundalini energy is
awakened, she wraps around the root chakra and continues up the spine, increasing
awareness as every chakra is pierced until she reaches the crown chakra, at which point
enlightenment (at least in this dimension) is reached.

Avoiding certain foods can help us do this, particularly meat and dairy. Since fear is of a low
vibration, I believe that every time you eat a bite out of an animal product that came from a
creature who lived in fear, your vibration lowers. As a result, you may experience lower
vibrational energies including fear, which can affect the root chakra and others. This is a
common belief among Yogis, as it is thought that the energetic imprint left on the meat from
an animal can be transferred when consumed.

Once you’ve awakened this awareness, cravings can start to indicate which chakras you need
to work on. For example, I frequently crave sweet potatoes, carrots, peanuts, and turmeric, all
of which are related to the sacral chakra. I choose to give in to these cravings, giving my body
(both physical and energetic) what I believe it wants, but every time I do I try to reflect on why
my body wants them. Your body will speak to you; all you have to do is listen.

If you get cravings that clearly aid your body (such as specific fruits, vegetables, or nuts), I
encourage you to listen to your body, eat those foods, and ask yourself: Why am I craving
these foods and do I perhaps need to work on the associated chakra? Self-reflection can be a
beautiful tool to figure out how your energetic, emotional, and physical bodies are doing, and
can provide you with the keys to healing yourself.

Various foods, drinks, herbs and spices correspond to each chakra. This is based on the color
frequency that each chakra represents, as well as the element which it relates to and its
associated qualities and energies.Eating foods that correspond to each chakra will assist with
clearing, cleansing, activating and rejuvinating these energy centers. Choosing to include
more of these types of food and liquids into your diet on a regular and long-term basis will
keep the chakra system in balance and benefit overal mind-body and spirit health.

You are (how you feel) about what you eat. Your body will often tell you what it needs and
your intuition can be an excellent guide to achieving ultimate health and well-being. Each
energetic chakra center corresponds to a specific areas of life, and each center represents
the way we relate to food on a deeper level. When energy work is needed, or being done in a
specific chakra center, our eating patterns–and the subconscious motivations behind them–
may reflect and relate to the theme and motivation behind that specific chakra.

The Root Chakra

Located at the base of your spine, it controls your physical vitality and survival instincts. The
root chakra is said to facilitate movement within your body and dysfunction of this point can
cause sciatica, lower back pain, depression, immune disorders and even rectal tumors.

Have more of proteins, root vegetables, minerals and above all, red-colored foods to feed
your root chakra. Some examples are:

 Potatoes
 Beets
 Carrots
 Eggs
 Red meat
 Hot paprika
 Horseradish

In this centre, food represents security. Deep fear-based issues, particularly related to safety
and physical survival take root here. There may be worries over food scarcity or concern over
having enough to eat. This can create issues with over-eating often in a subconscious attempt
to feel more secure in some way. Craving certain ‘comfort foods’ can provide a sense of feel
safe and nurtured.

If there is healing work being done in this centre, then it is fine to feed your body foods that
feel good and comforting while energy is being released. Including lots of fiber in your diet will
also help you feel fuller, safe and become more grounded.

If you are feeling run down, fatigued, burnt out, lazy or lethargic, red foods such as tomatoes,
strawberries, raspberries and beets will help to boost your energy levels and body
temperature.

The Sacral Chakra

Located below the navel and representing your creativity, sexuality and self-esteem, the
sacral chakra dysfunction will present itself in the form of issues like sciatica, gynecological
and libido problems or urinary complications. Include the following sweet fruits, nuts and
spices in your diet to feed your sacral chakra:

 Strawberries
 Mangos
 Melons
 Seeds
 Nuts
 Oranges
 Coconut
 Honey
 Cinnamon
 Sesame seeds
In this centre, food represents pleasure. One may find themselves eating for the simple
pleasure of it instead of based on hunger or need. Food is not just about nutrition, but it is
about the entire experience involving all of the senses–the smell, taste, texture, feel, flavor–
the delight of eating and savoring the essence of the food. Food can be a sensual
experiencing. There may also be a love/hate relationship with food. IBS or certain food
intolerances can often occur when one needs to find a balance between the foods they enjoy
and the foods the body is not resonating with.

If there is healing work being done in this centre, it may be beneficial to drink various liquids
often throughout the day such as herbal teas, fresh juices, water, etc). Chewing sugar-free
gum can provide a pleasurable sensation and as a healthier alternative whenever an
undesirable food craving or urge to over-eat occurs.

If you are low on confidence, doubting yourself or feeling unworthy of love, get yourself some
oranges and do it fast! Things like mandarins, mangoes, carrots, squash, pumpkin and yams
will all make a big impact on your feelings.

The Solar Chakra

Located above your navel, it is the prime controlling point of your emotional life. Consume
foods such as grains, spices, dairy products as well as any yellow fruits and vegetable to feed
this chakra. A few examples are:

 Yellow bell pepper

 Cheese
 Yogurt
 Mints
 Ginger
 Rice
 Flax seed
 Sunflower seeds
 Lemon
 Spearmint
 Turmeric
 Cumin
 Fennel

In this centre, food represents power. Issues here are related to control or power. There are
tendencies to be rigid or strict with diet or eating habits or controlling what one eats. Even
feelings of resentment to having to submit to dietary restrictions can surface. Those working
with the lower chakra may dislike the limiting feeling of restricting food intake because it may
represent a loss of power or control. The solar plexus chakra corresponds to one’s feeling of
self-empowerment.

If there is healing work being done in this centre, it is okay to drop the diet and instead focus
on choosing easily digestible foods such as soups or anything that is soft and easy on your
solar plexus region and related organs (liver, stomach, and pancreas). Choosing foods that
are easier to digest may be more beneficial, rather than restricting the quantity. This is kinder
than dieting and allows the body to balance weight better.

If you are feeling depressed, sad or emotional, hook yourself up with some bananas, sweet
corn on the cob, some fresh pineapple or some yellow peppers and watch how your mood
changes. Yellow is a natural mood enhancer, so skip the Prozac or the bottle of red and make
yourself something bright!
The Heart Chakra

Located in the heart, it is where your soul resides, controlling your emotions of tolerance,
empathy and forgiveness. A dysfunction can lead to problems such as asthma, lung or breast
cancer, heart problems, pneumonia and shoulder problems.

Some of the most helpful heart chakra foods include:

 Spinach
 Kale
 Broccoli
 Cabbage
 Cauliflower
 Squash
 Cilantro
 Parsley

In this centre, food represents love. Foods that are enjoyable release endorphins and provide
a rush similar to the feeling of falling in love. Romantic or ‘aphrodisiac’ type foods such as
oysters, red wine and chocolate may be stimulating. One may care less about the food itself,
and more about the way the food makes them feel. Putting restrictions on one’s food intake or
restrictive dieting can feel, in a way, heartbreaking.

If there is healing work being done in this centre, it might be good to focus on enjoying your
surroundings when eating, and the people that you are eating with. It’s best to avoid eating
alone (which can lead to over-eating) and actively engage with people and food together.
Having conversation over a meal (perhaps with a glass of wine and some chocolate) can be a
wonderful experience.

Feeling low on vital energy? Are you stressed? Overworked? Experiencing adrenal fatigue,
acidity or toxicity? Then green is the color for you! Throw your favorite organic greens in to a
juicer or make a gigantic salad and feel what happens to your feelings of stress. Likely they
will melt away due to the live enzymes, oxygen and chlorophyll.

The Throat Chakra

Located near the thyroid gland in the throat, it controls your powers of expression,
communication and judgment and can cause problems like a sore throat, swollen glands,
mouth ulcers, voice problems and laryngitis if it dysfunctions. Consume the following food
groups to keep the essential functions of the throat chakra intact:

 Soups
 Sauces
 Juices
 Seaweed and nori
 Fruits

In this centre, food represents joy. This energy inspires the enjoyment of a wide variety of
foods and this becomes a strength with eating. Exotic or unusual foods, and foods with
interesting spices and flavors can be appealing. There is a general openness with food.
Becoming more focused on the preparation or the ingredients involved in foods may also
occur.
If there is healing work being done in this centre, it may benefit to focus on trying new and
unusual foods to satisfy any craving, instead of over-eating or eating foods that seem boring
or feel unexciting. Although food should not result in guilt, and food selection should be based
on the joy it will bring instead of wasting energy (calories) on food that does not bring joy.

Experiencing anxiety? Enjoy a bowl of blueberries or blackberries. Blue and black foods help
to notify the kidneys and help to elicit honest communication.

The Brow Chakra

Located in the center of the brain, the ‘third eye’ manages your spiritual direction and wisdom.
It has ailments like blindness, strokes, seizures and brain tumors as its most critical
dysfunctions. You can have more of dark bluish colored fruits, liquids and fluids to feed your
brow chakra, including the likes of:

 Red grapes
 Blueberries
 Blackberries
 Raspberries
 Grape juice
 Red wine
 Poppy seed
 Lavender
 Mugwort

In this centre, food represents energy. Issues here may result in having very specific food
needs. Lots of fat and protein is common, and sometimes a sudden dislike of fruits or
vegetables. There is much depth and intuition that corresponds to the third-eye chakra energy
and each bite of food needs to be calorie dense, and the body knows this and will react
accordingly.

If there is healing work being done in this centre, one may feel pressured to eat healthier, but
should understand the need to honor the body. Feeding the brain lots of healthy fats (organic,
whole fats, fish oils, avocados, yogurts, etc), and proteins, organic meat and eggs, and also
nuts, is an excellent way to honor the body. It’s important and beneficial to feel good about
one’s food choices.

These foods will help to calm your energy and bring you peace if you are feeling frustrated,
angry or unable to forgive. Foods like eggplant, purple kale, concord grapes, purple carrots
etc., will help to bring you peace and calm! Whip up a fresh smoothie with your favorite purple
foods!

The Crown Chakra

The message of the crown chakra is purification and releasing the physical body from debris
so that there is a better connection between body and soul. It is located at the crown of the
head and balancing the inner and outer personality, it is considered as our direct link to God
and can have depression, muscular problems and complications of the skeletal system as the
major signs of its dysfunctions. Owing to its correlation with the universe and God, no
particular food for crown chakra is advised. However, steps and techniques like fasting,
detoxing and herbal incense are suggested for the purpose of feeding your crown chakra. In
this centre, food represents spirit. Food almost seems optional at this level. When there is a
lot going on in this chakra, it may result in erratic eating patterns, even periods of forgetting to
eat at times. Issues can result in one ignoring their body or losing track of time. One may not
take the time to eat healthy, may be stuck in a fasting/binging cycle, or when they do eat, food
might be eaten rapidly or in larger bites with less chewing, or without much awareness, or
may make unhealthy food choices.

If there is healing work being done in this centre, Patience is necessary to savor or enjoy the
meal, instead of rushing or skipping meals. The best thing to do is to eat at regular intervals
and to keep this schedule. Also, it’s important to remain hydrated throughout the day, so
carrying water with you wherever you go can help.

Things like mushrooms, garlic, ginger, onion, lychee, coconut and other tropical fruits help to
give you strength and power. If you are feeling defeated or down on yourself then enjoy some
white foods and experience a surge in your own inner strength.
Base Chakra: Food as Security. For folks who have energy work going on in the base chakra
(all the way down at the very base of your spine) food represents safety and security. When
food issues go awry, deep fears of safety and panic may arise. There may be worries about
food scarcity and needing to know when and what your next meal will be. If you over eat it
may be an attempt to feel secure and reassured that all is well. You may crave comfort foods
such as casseroles and home cooking and baked goods. If you have lots of energy work
going on in this chakra, it is perfectly reasonable to feed your body foods that comfort it while
this energy is being released. One way to provide comfort and a deep contentment to base
chakra eaters is to include lots and lots and lots of fiber, so that you feel full, satiated, and
safe and grounded for longer.

Sacral Chakra: Food as a Pleasure. For peeps who are doing sacral chakra work (just below
the belly button on your lower abdomen) food isn’t just about the nutrition, food is about the
entire experience… the smell, the feel, the texture, the flavor, the delight in chewing it. Food
is sensual. You may find you are eating because you want the feel of food in your mouth, not
because you are hungry. You may also find a love/hate relationship with food… often my
sacral chakra patients have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or lactose intolerance or celiac
disease and need to find a balance between the foods they love and the foods their body
hates. One great trick for sacral chakra eaters is to enjoy drinking (coffees, teas, water, fresh
squeezed juices…) or chewing gum throughout the day to experience that sensual pleasure
of having sensations in the mouth without necessarily reaching for food.

Solar Plexus Chakra: Food as a Power. For folks who are moving energy in the solar plexus
area (just above the navel) food is an issue of control or power. These peeps are the ones
most likely to try to strictly control what they eat and submit to horrible restrictive diets that
they absolutely hate!!!! None of the three lower chakra types enjoy dieting — these peeps
crave food and sustenance and just don’t feel optimal on diets — but for solar plexus work,
diets are the most offensive because restricting food intake feels like a loss of power or a loss
of control… two things a solar plexus eater hates. One great idea for solar plexus eaters is to
drop the diets and instead focus on choosing easily digestible foods like soups and pureed
foods that are easy on your solar plexus organs (liver, pancreas, stomach) so focusing on
choosing digestible foods that are easy on the body, instead of restricting quantity, tends to be
kinder than dieting and allows your body to balance weight better.

Heart Chakra: Food as a Love. Heart chakra workers enjoy food that releases endorphins
and provides a rush, similar to falling in love. Any of my long-term readers who know how
often I blog about eating chocolate will recognize… yep, I’m a heart chakra eater. Romantic
foods like oysters, red wine, chocolate… it’s not so much that heart chakra peeps care about
food, they care about the way the food makes them feel. (By the way, for other heart chakra
chocolate lovers out there — they just released yet another medical study that gives a huge
thumbs up to chocolate… this latest one shows that people who consume chocolate have
lower Body Mass Indexes (BMI) on average than non-chocoholics) Dieting feels atrocious for
heart chakra eaters and restricting food is equivalent to being dumped by a lover. One great
trick for heart chakra eaters is to focus on enjoying the people you are eating with more than
the food — if possible, avoid eating alone (this leads to over-eating) and instead really focus
on making eye contact with the people you are enjoying a meal with, the conversation, have a
lovely glass of wine and a small piece of chocolate cake instead of three plates full of food
you do not love.
Throat Chakra: Food as a Joy. Throat chakra people just love love love to enjoy a wide
variety of foods and this is one of their wonderful strengths with eating. My son is a throat
chakra guy and he is amazing at trying foods most children wouldn’t even think of… exotic
foods, spicy foods, unusual vegetables that kids traditionally hate. He is open to trying it all
and gets as excited as he watches me prepare an interesting meal from scratch. Because
they are so open to food, dieting feels like a huge loss and may even bring deep sorrow .It is
good for throat chakra eaters is to focus on trying new and unusual foods to satisfy their
cravings, instead of over-eating a large quantity of boring foods. Another great way to look at
food for throat chakra peeps is to focus on a Joy Diet! Throat chakra eaters can feel guilty
because food brings them joy — but I say this is a strength! Food brings joy! So choose your
food selection based on how much joy it brings you and do not waste your time (or calories)
on food that does not bring joy. Read more about this here.

Third Eye Chakra: Food as an Energy. People with lots of activity in their third eye have a
very specific food need — lots of fat and lots of protein. They may tend to dislike fruits and
dislike veggies, and in today’s veggie loving society this can make them feel like they are
making bad food choices. The thing is, these people have so much depth and intuition in their
third eye (middle of the forehead) that each bite needs to be calorie dense and their body
knows this. Instead of feeling pressured to eat more fruits and veggies, third eye peeps need
to know that they are honoring their bodies by feeding their brain lots of healthy fats (organic
whole fat dairy/butter/yogurt or coconut, avocado, fish oil…) and protein (organic meats,
organic eggs, organic nuts and nut butters.) My daughter is a third eye kind of gal, and I can
honestly say that she never eats any fruits… veggies she can tolerate in small amounts. But
mostly, she craves protein and dairy and she is the healthiest person I know. Never
sick. Glowing skin. Gorgeous hair. Beautiful radiant soul. People who are third eye eaters
need to feel good about their food choices…

Crown Chakra: Food as an Option. If you have a lot of energy going through the crown
chakra, I bet this sounds familiar: forgetting to eat, not making the time to eat, feeling dizzy
because you skipped lunch, reaching for a quick snack and then getting right back to work,
forgetting to hydrate. Crown chakra peeps find it easy to ignore their bodies’ needs or lose
track of time. While they are usually not so bothered by going on a diet, the danger here is
that they often don’t take the time to eat healthily so that when they do eat, they are ravenous
and do not make smart food choices. The best things crown chakra eaters can do is to
schedule in their eating so that they eat at regular intervals, stay hydrated, and make great
food choices… instead of not eating all day long and then binging in a drive through on the
way home. Another great tip for my crown chakra peeps is to carry water with them at all
times, so that even if they are not taking the time to properly eat, they stay well hydrated.
foods and experience a surge in your own inner strength.
Chakra, the effervescent Sanskrit term that implies the ‘spinning wheel of energy’ tells you all
about the powerful centers of spiritual energy in your body. Seven in all, each of these
chakras are located at one of the major endocrine glands and are associated with a different
body part.

For our body to function properly, each of these 7 chakras needs to work in perfect alignment,
in their natural balance. However, it is our dietary intake that determines how well-aligned our
chakras remain. When we deprive ourselves of a food group that feeds a particular chakra, it
goes into a misalignment and leads to a spate of illnesses and health complications. Similarly,
having a particular food group in excess will also push the specific chakra out of its original
balance.
