This document discusses the effectiveness of smart trash bins in waste management. Traditional waste collection methods can be inefficient, leading to overflowing bins and irregular collection schedules. Smart trash bins address these issues by using sensors to detect and sort waste types, compacting it to reduce storage needs and aid transportation. Implementing smart trash bins in public spaces like schools can encourage proper waste disposal and recycling practices, reducing plastic pollution and contributing to sustainability. The study will use a mixed methods approach to collect quantitative data on waste segregation percentages and qualitative data through observations of attitudes towards disposal.

EFFECTIVITY OF
SMART TRASH BIN ON
WASTE MANAGEMENT In modern cities, waste management has become a problem as waste is being generated faster than it is being managed, and this is leading to serious environmental pollution. Smart Trash bins are at the forefront of the waste management revolution. Traditional waste collection methods often suffer from inefficiencies, leading to overfilled bins, irregular collection schedules, and` unnecessary fuel consumption. The researchers observed that the trash bin in our school often appear to be overflowing, indicating a potential need for more frequent waste removal. Additionally, a significant portion of the trash consist of disposable items like plastic bottles and food packaging, suggesting an opportunity for increased recycling efforts and waste reduction education. One of the However, the world is facing a major problem with plastic waste pollution that has accumulated in oceans, water bodies, and landfills. Since these waste gets mixed up , processing and segregation becomes difficult. Apart from that this system improves the percentage of segregated waste and also save time and money in terms of collection of waste from the dustbin. (Rai and Goyal, 2020) This research aims to determine the effectivity of Smart Trash bin on Waste management. The smart trash bins are equipped with sensors that can detect the type of waste being disposed of, such as plastic bottles or containers. It can then sort the waste accordingly and compact it for efficient storage and transportation. By implementing smart trash bins in public spaces, such as schools, markets and communities can encourage individual to properly dispose of their plastic waste and promote recycling practices. This can help reduce the amount of plastic pollution in the environment and contribute to a more sustainable future. This experimental nature will utilize a mixed method research design, specifically the Convergent parallel design, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys and measurement, focusing on the percentage of waste properly segregated . Qualitative data will be gathered through observation notes focusing on attitudes towards waste disposal, or perceptions of the effectiveness of smart trash bins in managing waste. THE FEASIBILITY OF RESIN TREE LATEX AS A COMPACT FIRE STARTER In outdoor settings, having a reliable and compact fire starter is crucial for various activities such as camping, survival situations, and outdoor cooking. Traditional fire starters may have limitations, prompting the exploration of alternative materials. This research aims to investigate the feasibility of resin tree latex as a potential compact fire starter. Current fire starters often come with environmental concerns, inefficiencies, or limited availability. The need for a sustainable and effective alternative has created a gap in the market. Resin tree latex presents itself as a potential solution, given its natural origin and combustible properties. However, comprehensive research is needed to bridge the existing gap in knowledge regarding its feasibility and practical application. This research is essential to determine the viability of resin tree latex as a compact fire starter. The objectives include assessing its ignition efficiency, burn time, and environmental impact compared to traditional alternatives. Establishing resin tree latex as a feasible option would address the necessity for eco- friendly and efficient fire starters, catering to the growing demand for sustainable outdoor products. It aims to contribute valuable insights into the potential of resin tree latex as a compact fire starter, addressing both the environmental and practical aspects of outdoor fire ignition. This study will utilize a mixed-method research design, specifically the convergent parallel design, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. In Quantitative phase, we will assess ignition efficiency and burn time through controlled experiments, employing standardized protocols. In the qualitative component of our research, direct observation of resin tree latex will be a crucial aspect to assess its performance as a fire starter. Field observations will focus on various aspects, including the resin tree’s natural properties, such as texture, flammability, and overall suitability for ignition. During practical use as a fire starter, qualitative data will be gathered on factors like ease of ignition, consistency of burn, and any observable environmental impact. Upcycled Blooms: Transforming Plastic into Eco-Friendly Flower Pots We’ve all come across plastic waste in some form or other. You can find it in our homes, in our streets, and in our oceans. Plastic pollution has become a global issue that needs to be addressed urgently. Since their invention in the 20th century, plastics have changed our lives, bringing many benefits but also huge damage to the environment. The biggest problem with plastics is that many types are incredibly long lasting and can take hundreds of years to breakdown. This is causing major problems, including the buildup of plastic pollution across the land and seas. This research aims to determine the effectivity of transforming plastic trash into eco-friendly flower pots to lessening plastic trash in Santa Maria National High School. This eco-friendly flower pots made of small particles of plastic trash and cements. By transforming plastic into eco-friendly flower pots, it reduces plastic waste and promotes sustainability. This initiative helps minimize the environmental footprint associated with traditional plastic disposal methods. Additionally, using these eco-friendly pots supports a circular economy by giving new life to materials that would otherwise contribute to pollution. Overall, it contributes to a greener and more sustainable approach to gardening and waste management. This study will utilize a mixed-method research design, specifically the convergent parallel design, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys and measurement, focusing on the rate of plastic trash and the effectivity of eco-friendly flower pots to lessening the plastic trash in Santa Maria National High School. Qualitative data will be gathered through observation notes and interviews, focusing on the result of eco-friendly flower pots, or perceptions of the effectiveness to lessen the plastic trash in the Santa Maria National High School.
