information. The concept of learning styles is
based on the belief that individuals within groups
often acquire knowledge most efficiently through
distinct and preferred modalities. The four key
learning styles are visual, auditory, tactile and
kinaesthetic.

MAIN FOUR TYPES OF LEARNING STYLE
One of the popular theories, to this day, is the VARK model. This model identifies four types of
learners: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing.
VISUAL
Visual learners prefer the use of a variey images, maps,
and graphic organizers to access and understand new
information.
• VISUAL- ICONIC refers to those who are moe interseted
in visual imagery such as film, graphic displays, picture.
• VISUAL- SYMBOLIC refers to those ho feel comfortable AUDITORY
with abstract symbolism such as mathematical formula or Auditory learners best understand new content through
wrtten word. listening and speaking, especially in situations like lectures
and group discussions. Aural learners may use repetition as
a study technique and benefit from the use of mnemonic
devices.
KINESTHETIC/ TACTILE
Students who are kinesthetic learners best understand
information through tactile representations of information.
These students are hands-on learners and learn best when
figuring things out by hand. They tend to prefer learning by
doing /experiencing things.
