Inventory and Expiry Tracking Web-


based App using QR Code for County
Bakeshop

Introduction
How inventory systems worked before was using the pen and paper method one writes down
and inputs everything manually to keep track of inventory and expiry for a bakery. The method
itself can be reliable and easy to use if done properly but if one does not know how to organize
their data properly it could risk and cost the owner. Not to mention that some handwriting can
be eligible, higher chance of the data stolen and possibility of loss, is highly likely since it is
written on paper. [1] However, now that society is immersed in the days of advanced
technology, which is widely accessible, it is the key to adapt to this available technology and use
it to its full potential to aid various endeavors.
Introduction

The researchers proposed to developed a “Inventory and Expiry Web-based Application


using QR code for County Bakeshop”, a inventory system that is able to manage and
track accurate inventory and expiry of the baked goods, and can also eliminate or lessen
the use of manual documentation and efficiently completing the task with minimal effort
and knowledge. With this, researchers aim to achieve a better management system that
can keep track of important details and be updated in real time as stock is being taken
out and added.
Purpose of the Project
The researchers aim to create a user-friendly web for bakery app owners to easily track and
manage their inventory. In order to maintain and keep track of the baked goods , the researchers
will be implemented using a QR code to scan and be inputted through a web-based app that the
owners can use and manage, with this system it provides efficient and accurate results to the
inventory and tracks the baked goods that have been sold , that were added , and the product that
are nearing their expiration date.

The inventory system will be accessed remotely by both owners and employees to manage the
inventory , the system is designed to have separate log-in user accounts for owners and employees
upon entering the system , the owner having admin access and the employees will just use regular
accounts.
Objectives of the Project

Owning and maintaining a property, especially if it is not located on the same plot of land can be
proven difficult when it comes to collecting payment or making sure the renter's living conditions
are met up to their expectations. It takes away more time and money to do these tasks and not even
to be able to do them well and efficiently. As a landlord who owns multiple rented properties it is
important that these kinds of issues are addressed so that it can resolve both the owners and the
renter’s problems and make it a little easier for both parties involved. That is why having a system
that is able to track the statuses of rent payments and maintenance checks are important to ensure
easy transactions between the tenant and the landlord.
Purpose of the Project
The researchers want to accomplish the implementation of this project using a web-
based application to be able to lessen the time and money it takes for the landlords to
collect their payments and visit the tenants' rented homes for regular maintenance
checks. The researchers also aim to ease the hassle of having to remind the tenants of
their due rent by giving reminders on the day and in advance about the payment for
rent. The researchers will be implementing the MySQL database system to store and
update the data needed to manage the renters information and transaction history.
