The Paraprofessional certificate is designed to prepare individuals to take on the role of a paraprofessional, also known as a teacher's assistant, in a K-12 classroom. Students will take a variety of classes to introduce them to aspects of teaching and learning that will help them to be successful as a paraprofessional. Additional requirements must be met for Illinois licensure. This certificate requires 21 credits in the courses listed below.
