Midterm 07-08

1) The document is a mathematics exam for grade 11 students containing 7 sections with multiple questions in each section. Questions involve topics like geometry, functions, sequences, trigonometry, and equations. 2) Section I involves finding which of several proposed answers are correct for questions related to points in 3D space. Section II involves finding parameters for functions given conditions on minima. 3) Later sections involve finding equations of circles and lines, limits, sequences, roots of equations, and trigonometric identities. The final section involves angles and trigonometric functions.

two real numbers. Let (G) be the representative curve of g, Find a and b, knowing
that (G) has A (1; 1) as a minimum.

Part B:
Let f be a function defined, over IR, by: f(x) = x3 – 3x + 3. Let (C) be the

representative curve of f in an orthonormal system O; i, j . 

3) Write the equation of the straight line (T), the tangent to (C) at I.
4) Draw (T) and (C).
5) Show that the equation f(x) = 0 has a unique root  such that –3 <  < –2.
6) Let h be a function defined by: h(x) = | x |3 – 3| x | + 3.
a- Prove that h is an even function.
b- Draw (H), the curve of h, in the previous system O; i, j .  
