settings.
PE3.1: Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of
physical activities
Essential Questions:
What is the appropriate time to spend at each station?
Assessment for measuring lesson objectives: Include the type(s) of assessment, what is being assessed
and the evaluative criteria (attach assessment form to be used with this lesson plan).
Table attached.
My goal for improving my teaching in this lesson (based on the observation data):
My goal is to have activities that all students can with modifications participate in and have fun.
Instructional materials, resources, and equipment used to engage students in learning tasks:
The equipment used will be turkey cutouts, turkey basket, cones, balloons, stuffed turkey, and balls.

Review and closure:

Today we focused on underhand throwing. (Show each student an underhand throw and have them
name/point/look at it). Very good everyone! We use underhand throwing in lots of games so it’s very
important we know how to do it. Next week we are going to be playing throwing games during our class
so we will get to see all your skills again then. Let’s stack it up!

Reflection: Complete this section after teaching the lesson.

Did your students meet the learning outcomes for this lesson? How do you know (provide specific data).

My students did meet both my all my objectives. In my set induction and my closure
the students were all able to identify the underhand throw. They did however struggle
with my psychomotor objective because most were in wheelchairs and did not have
any motor function. They more so worked on grasp and release.

How will you use the results of your assessment(s) to inform your teaching of the next lesson?

I will make sure to have a station designated to students that need a break from their
station work when it is not time to switch yet. Also I will make sure to go slower on my
explanations of the station due to Justin’s observations.
Time Class Segments (add more if needed—start typing below the first line) Notes
Instant Activity (if planned):
Turkey feathers find.
All students find the feathers underneath the rocks (cones) and grab them and take them to the
turkey and stick the feathers to it. They will do this until there are no feathers left under the rocks.

Opening Management:
I will place a teacher with each student to travel with them during the activity.
Set Induction:
We are going to work on underhand throwing today. Here is an underhand throw *demo*. Can you
point to the picture that shows someone underhand throwing? ( walks around to each student). Very
good everyone!! Underhand throwing is very important because we use it in a lot of sports and
games. Today we are going to get lots of practice on underhand throwing. We are going to do each of
these stations that work on underhand throwing. ( walks around to each station and explain the
station).
Task Presentation 1: Demonstration, Cues, and CFU
Feed the turkey! Underhand Toss the yarn balls to a hula hoop with a turkey head attached to it. The
distance from the hula hoop depends on the child but there is a line 10 feet away for the children to
start at. If the child has a sever disability they can just drop the bean bag into the hoop. They will be
working on grasp and release.
Learning Task 1: Structure (w/diagram) and CFU

Transition
Station work
Task Presentation 2: Demonstration, Cues, and CFU
Hit the turkey! Underhand Throw the bean bag to a turkey target on the wall. The distance from the
wall depends on the child. There will be a line of poly spots 10 feet away for the child to start from if
they are capable. If the child has a sever disability they can move closer to the wall.
Learning Task 2: Structure (w/diagram) and CFU

Transition
Station work
Task Presentation 3: Demonstration, Cues, and CFU
Stuff the turkey! Underhand toss yarn balls in a turkey body (paper bags). The distance from the
turkey depends on the child. There will be a line of poly spots 10 feet away for children to start from.
If the child has a sever disability they can just drop the ball into the turkey. They will be working on
grasp and release.
Learning Task 3: Structure (w/diagram) and CFU

Transition
Station work
Task Presentation 4: Demonstration, Cues, and CFU
Mashed potatoes! Mash the pads with squeakers in it like mashing the potatoes.
** This station is for the children to go to when they need a break from their station and it is not time
to switch yet.
Learning Task 4: Structure (w/diagram) and CFU

Transition
Station work
Task Presentation 5: Demonstration, Cues, and CFU
Turkey pen! The students will try to get all the turkeys back in their pen. The turkeys are balloons and
the pen is made of cones. They are trying to get all of them into the pen.
Learning Task 5: Structure (w/diagram) and CFU

Station work
Task Presentation 6: Demonstration, Cues, and CFU
Flying turkeys! The turkey will be hanging from the ceiling or goal and the students are going to
underhand toss trying to hit the turkey.
