STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

RMIT UNIVERSITY
Course: Bachelor of Business (Accountancy)
INTRODUCTION
My name is Abhay Garg, my Date of Birth is 14/12/2000 and I am citizen of a country India and
here I am applying for the degree of Bachelors of Business (Accountancy) in RMIT University,
Melbourne, Australia. My parents are self employed. I have a well settled and established family
to take care of my education and living expenses. We are two siblings where my younger brother
is studying. I am single.
Education Background:
I completed my 10th with 9.0 CGPA in 2016 from CBSE and 12th in commerce stream with 69
% overall and 71% in best four from CBSE board in the year 2018. Since IELTS was the
requirement for studying overseas I gave the exam and got 7 bands overall and according to each
module I got 8 in listening, 8 in reading, 6 in speaking and 6 in writing . We have access to
sufficient finances to cover the cost of tuition and living expenses for the duration of my
program.
PROPOSED COURSE
It is very among parents of India to prefer either medical or engineering as a career for their
wards and try their best to convince their children to go for these streams rather than others but
my interest was in business stream from the starting so it I did not took so much time to decide
which course I have to opt for so I chose Bachelors of Business (Accountancy) program as this
highly-specialized and dynamic program trains me to perform high-level financial and economic
analysis at management level in both public and private sectors. Firstly it is connected with my
previous studies and moreover we cannot underestimate the value of business among whole
world and in this course I will get to study the subjects like, business finance, commercial law,
quantitative analysis, and macroeconomics. I will be exposed to different industrial
environments, and analytical learning activities. Subjects are organized into 3 semesters and
there are total 24 courses and each has 12 credit points.
Why choose Australia
I choose Australia keeping in mind reputation of Australian Institutes, Smooth faster admission
process and availability of quality education. Study time spent in Australia will give me the best
platform to succeed in my career and I will get an international exposure. In this way, Australia
study will benefit my future. As Melbourne is named among the world's most livable city, it
provides highest score for stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and
infrastructure. Studying at Melbourne, I'll be living in a safe and vibrant city that offers world-
class study options, services and the widest range of things to do. Countries such as Germany,
UK and U.S.A living expenses along with the tuition fees costs very high to an international
student and in Canada the weather conditions sometimes gets in tolerable because it gets very
intense to the extent of minus 30 to 40 degrees and in Singapore less scope of work makes it less
preferable so in the end I chose Australia for the further studies as it gives world class education
at a reasonable price.
Why RMIT university
To choose institute was most difficult part, I came across many institutes offering the same
course. After comprehensively examining and analyzing my needs and subjects offered along
with quality of faculty, RMIT became my first preference. As it offers the course which best
suits my career objectives along with enhanced career outcomes. RMIT is a public university
delivering nationally recognized qualifications across Australia for local and international
students. RMIT combines a fun interactive atmosphere supplemented by an energetic method of
teaching. All training incorporates a one on one individual approach to meet the needs and skill
level of each student. Its range of courses is comprehensive to meet the workforce and service
needs of its community. The experience and age of RMIT University is older than the
universities like Victoria and Swinburne as it was founded in 1887 that is why I chose RMIT
University to continue my further studies in Australia.
Future Plans
The time I will complete my course I will seek for some career opportunities in Australia for
sometime so that I can add up some experience of working overseas into my profile and their I
can secure many posts in the fields of business such financial advisor, banking, financial
planner, real estate finance manager, financial analyst and many other posts which will
benefit me in India by securing such posts in top companies like ICICI group of finance, LIC
finance limited, HDFC and may other workplaces there I can earn about 10 lacs to 15 lacs per
year
FINANCIAL BACKGROUND

My parents and my grandfather are sponsoring my studies. My father and grandfather are
businessmen; my mother is a private tutor. Their annual income is approximately 27423AUD
and I have approx. 55,838 AUD available in the bank account on the name of them. I will be
easily able to manage my living expenses and study expenses in Australia.

Moreover I can say that this course is going to help me to have a well settled future. I am well
aware of the demands and long hours of dedicated studies that I will have to put in. I have the
strength and confidence to succeed in my future endeavors. I hope that you will share my
