Strategy 1: Prepare a list of questions

Strategy 2: Prepare yourself physically and emotionally

If I were to go into class with a prepared list of questions that I had, it would help me to

better understand the things that I am having trouble with. I would also be able to not struggle as

much because, even though I would have more questions, the things I didn’t understand before

would be easier for me now. If I were to be physically and emotionally prepared for every class,

I would have better success in my classes. Always having my homework complete and ready to

go and knowing how to do the assignment are ways to pass all of my classes. Being prepared in

all of these ways would help me not worry as much about not being able to complete

assignments and tests.

1. When I feel overwhelmed, a strategy I use or would like to use in future situations is

to list and prioritize everything you need to do because making lists helps keep me

organized.

2. When I feel anger, a strategy I use or would like to use in future situations is to

separate from an external stressor because removing myself from triggers that make

me angry gives me time to calm down and rethink what has happened.

3. When I feel anxiety, a strategy I use or would like to use in future situations is to take

a mental vacation. After doing something for so long, your brain needs a break.

Whether you do something you enjoy or just get away for a minute, taking a break

will help you regroup and start fresh.

4. When I feel sadness, a strategy I use or would like to use in future situations is to trust

a positive outcome. Being upset is natural, continuing to let that thing bother you

isn’t. Understanding that if you let someone ruin your entire day, you let them win is

important.

A few ways to increase your happiness are savoring your pleasures and gratitude. I think

that both go hand in hand. When you can do something that you love, you need to enjoy

every minute of it because you don’t get to do it often. At the same time, you should be

grateful that you got the opportunity to do it.

I would like to not get upset as easily. This is the main change that I would like to make

because I currently let many things get me upset, and when I calm down, I realize that they

weren’t really that important. Being a mother of 4 and having an ex-husband to deal with are

things that make it so I get upset often. I love my children more than anything in the world and I

let the little things such as them not cleaning their room upset me. I would be happier and calmer

if I could not get upset as easily.

Having good emotional intelligence skills at work helps you to be able to handle

situations that occur with grace. If you get upset, you will be able to recognize it and take steps

to resolve the issue. Being able to manage your feelings is important is important as well. If you

get upset or mad, you must realize that throwing a fit or hitting someone is unacceptable.

Empathy is important in making relationships with your coworkers.

Having strong soft skills is important for a teacher because the relationship you have with

your students is one of the most important things for a teacher. At a past job, I was a machine

operator. While running my machine a problem occurred and I needed maintenance to come to

fix it. Our maintenance man was a very unhappy person who got angry when he had to come to

machines. When he came over, he called me names and yelled at me. When this happened, I got

upset and realized immediately that I needed to calm down. I then walked away and collected

myself. Once I returned, my machine was fixed, and I finished my evening.
