ASSESSMENT METHOD 3 – Project

Instructions for students

• This assessment requires you todevelop separate contracts with the supplier and contractor
based on the negotiations you role-played in Case study -Part 2.

• This assessment consists of 2 tasks. Student must complete these tasks


Task 1- Prepare two written contracts
Task 2- Written report

• To achieve competency in this assessment, you must satisfactorily complete all the observation
skills listed in the marking guide.

• Assessor will inform you the submission date for this assessment. It recommends allocating
approximately 12hours for this assessment.

• You could complete the task 1 in simulated industry environment, classroom, computer lab and
task 2 self-paced.

• Your assessor will inform you the simulated industry environment location prior to the
assessment.

• You must use word processing software as per the instructions given in each task.(Eg. MS
Excel /MS Word)

• Your assessor will provide you the soft copies of required templates for this assessment

• Recommended font sizes of the document should range between 10 and 14 and font type
should be as Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman or Tahoma

• On completion, you are required to submit all the parts to your assessor

• Your trainer/assessor will inform you the submission date

• Assessor will explain the assessment with you prior to commencement, this will allow you the
opportunity to ask questions in completing your work.

• You must use only black or blue pens to complete any document.

• The additional and specific instructions are listed under each task

• If students have any special needs, he/she must inform the assessor before commencing the
assessment.

• Assessor will brief the assessment policy before commencing the assessment to students, all
additional and specific instructions are listed under each task.

• If the student does not agree with the outcome, he/she could discuss the matter with the
assessor. If it’s unsuccessful the student could appeal the outcome by lodging a formal complaint as
per the assessment EAA policy and procedure.
• If the students work is found to have been plagiarised or copied from another source without
proper references, the submitted work will be subject to the plagiarism and academic dishonesty
policy of EAA.

• Copying, paraphrasing or summarising the work of another student or another source without
appropriate acknowledgement is considered as plagiarism. Therefore, the assessment must be your
own work.
Task 1 – Prepare two written contracts.
• Refer to the research you conducted in Case Study Part 1and the negotiations you
conducted inCase Study Part 2.


• Prepare two written contracts – one for each supplier and contractor.


• A sample templateof a Contractwill be provided for you by assessor. You can use the
template provided or create your own.


• Ensure the contract includes the key elements, components and inclusions to ensure it is
legally binding.


• Ensure you follow legal requirements that impact agreements in your sector, including
consumer protection where applicable.


• Decide whether you need any specialist advice to help you develop the contract. If you do,
seek advice as required.


• Submit the two completed contracts to your assessor together with this project.
