    Unit 3 School survey

    Questions Notes

    The school where you study English is interested in making improvements. You have been
    asked to write a report for the director. Your report should discuss the school’s strengths and
    weaknesses from the point of view of the students. You should also put forward at least one
    recommendation for how the school could meet students’ needs more effectively. Write your
    report in 220–260 words.

    Procedure
    › Ask students to think of some examples of what makes the school where

    their surveys. Put the students in small groups to discuss their findings.
    › Refer students to the writing task at the bottom of the worksheet. Encourage
    them to use the information gathered from their surveys and discussions
    to help them. This writing task could be done in class or set for homework.
    Alternatively, the writing task could be used as additional writing practice at
    the end of the unit.
