IV. Procedure:
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

Elicit:

Good day, class! All: Good morning, Ma’am.

Let us begin our day by praying to our

Lord for guidance. Student: Yes, Ma’am

Will you be the one to lead the prayer,

(student's name)? Student: Are you ready to pray classmate?

All: Yes, we are.

Student: In the name of the father the son

and the holy spirit, God I pray today that
you grant us wisdom, knowledge, and
understanding. Increase our capacity, Lord,
as we learn. Give us understanding, Oh
God, that we can grasp whatever is being
taught. May what we receive today be
beneficial to our growth and development.
Amen.

Amen.

Once again, Good afternoon class! All: Good morning, Ma’am

I hope everyone is doing well. All: Yes, Ma’am.
Before you take your seats, can you
check if there are pieces of
paper/plastics under your chairs, and
throw them in our trash bin also, kindly
arrange your chairs properly. (Students pick up the pieces of trash and
arrange the chairs properly)

Now, let’s check your attendance.

Who is absent for today?

Ok class do we have an assignment?

Students: Yes Ma'am.

I expect everyone to be truthful in their

responses and to remember everything
they answer.

Engage:

Let's have a little review of your

assignment.

May I ask (students name) to tell me

what our previous lesson is all about? Student: We tackled the alphabet of lines
yesterday Ma'am.
Very good. Knowing the various
alphabets of lines allows you to use
them precisely according to their
purpose and function.

I will ask another question, now I want

someone to volunteer?

Give at least five examples of the

alphabet of lines. (Students raise their hands)

Yes, (student's name)? Student: Visible line, Hidden line,

Centerline, Cutting plane, and Leader line.

Excellent, Alright, it only means that you

really learned our previous lesson.

Each of those lines serves a different

purpose for you as a student.

Do you agree?
Students: Agree Ma'am.

Explore:

Class, last meeting we discussed

Students: Yes Ma'am.
alphabets of lines correct?

Okay, I'm sure everyone remembers the

names of the different lines. I'll give an
activity to see if anyone remembers.

Instruction:
We have a 15-item quiz. In a ¼ sheet of
paper, you're going to choose the correct
alphabet of lines by identifying what is
being referred to in the description
shown on the screen. You only have 1
min. to answer. All: Understood Ma’am
(Student answers the quiz)
Ok class, start answering.

(After 1 minute)

Okay, I think everyone is done,

exchange your papers to your seatmate
for checking.

Based on your scores everyone got the

correct answers. Everyone in the class is
listening well. Now, before we proceed to
our lesson today, may I ask if you have
any questions about our previous
lesson? Students: None so far Ma’am.
B. Motivation

Now, before we proceed to our new

topic, we will have a quick activity.

For the instructions, we have an object

here. I will group you into three groups. I
want you to draw this object that I'm
going to show in an orthographic
projection. You only have 3 mins. to do
the task.

- Cartolina
- Pentel pen

(Teacher groups the students)

Ok class, go to your respective groups. (Students gathered with their group and
draw)

Explain:

(Times Up)
(Collect the drawings) (Students pass their drawings)

Go back to your seat class, looking at

your drawings, I observed that some of
you understand the need to show the
size of the object. Others emphasize the
depth and measurement of the drawing.
So today, I am going to discuss a new
topic in Technical drafting. In this new
lesson, we will learn orthographic
projection and the angle of projection, as
well as identify them, and their function.

To begin, may I ask (student's name) to

read the objectives? (Student reads the objectives)

Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, students will be

able to:

A. To understand the basic principle

of orthographic drawing.

B. To be able to construct an
orthographic projection of an
object.
C. To improve students' spatial
reasoning skills through
orthographic projections.

Thank you (student's name).

Do we need to ask ourselves what is

Orthographic projection?

Orthographic - Orthographic comes

from the Greek word for "straight writing
(or drawing)." This projection shows the
object as it looks from the front, right,
left, top, bottom, or rear, and is typically
positioned relative to each other
according to the rules of either the "First
Angle" or "Third Angle" of projection.

Orthographic Projection - is a means

of representing a three-dimensional
object in two dimensions. It uses multiple
views of an object, from points of view
rotated about the object's centre through
increments of 90 degrees.

- are a collection of 2D drawings that

work together to give an accurate overall
representation of an object.

Principal Views or Orthographic

Views
● Front
● Rear
● Top
● Bottom
● Right Side
● Left Side

Three Main Orthographic Projection

Top - this is the view of an object as

seen or projected from the top.

Front - this is the view of an object as

seen or projected from the front side of
the object.

Right Side - this view is sometimes

referred to as the auxiliary vertical
plane. It is the view showing the right
side of any object.

Glass Box Method - is a traditional

drafting method of placing an object
inside an imaginary glass box to view
the six principal views.
Before we proceed to the different
projection angles, first we need to know
what the quadrant is all about.

Quadrant - it is the entire space that is

divided into four rooms named a first
quadrant, second quadrant, third
quadrant and fourth quadrant
respectively following an anticlockwise
pattern. The division of space is done by
two planes commonly known as a
vertical plane (frontal plane) and a
horizontal plane bisecting each other.
The line of intersection of these two
planes is called the reference line or XY
line.

Angles of Projection

First Angle of Projection - is a type of

orthographic projection where we place
the object in the first quadrant.

Third Angle of Projection - this is a

type of orthographic projection where we
place the object in the first quadrant.
Here's a representation of the First and
Third angles of the Projection.

Do you have any questions?

Students: None so far Ma'am.

Well, I have a question.

Again what is an orthographic Student: It is a two-dimensional graphical

projection? representation that represents the three
principal views of a drawing.

What are the three orthographic views in Student: The Top, Right Side, and Front
an orthographic projection? view.

What are the alphabets of lines used in Student: The alphabet of lines that were
an orthographic projection? used in an orthographic projection are the
Visible, Hidden and Center Lines

Why is it important to know about Student: Drawing orthographic projection is

orthographic projections? one of the basic skills in accomplishing
huge and complicated projects in
industries like houses, buildings and
bridges.

Very good, Thank you, everyone.

Elaborate:

Now, with the same groupings. You will

identify and draw the orthographic views
of the object that is shown in the ppt,
with correct measurements. I will only
give you 5 mins. to do this task.

We have here the following rubrics to

follow.
Rubrics:

Accuracy - 50%
give correct measurements of
dimensions in every object provided.

Legibility - 25%
capable of being understandable.

Neatness - 25%
free from dirt and disorderliness of the
drawing

Total: 100%

Okay class go with your group and start (Students start drawing)
drawing.

(Times Up)

Okay, time’s up. Let’s see if you got it

right.

Very good for those groups who are

perfect, and for those who are not,
there's always a next time.

Evaluation:

Now, before we end this lesson, let us

have a quiz. This is a 10-item quiz. I will
only give you 2 mins. to answer.

(Displays the questions in the (Students answer the quiz)

presentation)

Okay, time’s up. Let’s see if you got it

right.

(Displays the answer in the presentation)

The class raised their hands to those

who got a perfect score. (Students raise their hands)

Very good class, everyone got a perfect

score. You really did understand our
lesson for today.

Extend:

Ok class, for your assignment, you are

going to draw a complete three-view
orthographic drawing of a birdhouse with
dimensions and specifications.
Do you have any questions? Students: None Ma'am.

Okay, that’s all for today. See you next Students: Goodbye Ma’am, thank you for
meeting. Class dismissed. teaching us, God Bless You.
