IV. PROCEDURES

PRELIMINARY

Teacher: Student:

“Before we begin let us all stand for a short

prayer”

“Let us put ourselves in the presence of God.

Together let’s pray.”

(the teacher project the prayer on the screen) (The students keep silent and say the prayer.)

Cupk

“Amen”

“You can now take your seats”

“Let me check your attendance. Looks like none

of you are absent in my sitting arrangement. All
seats have been taken. Very good class”

“Before we continue, let us recall our guidelines

when we are inside our classroom”

1. Raise your hand if you wish to answer

2. Avoid using smartphones unless needed
in the discussion or an activity
3. Be participative
4. Be respectful to your classmate and to
your teacher

“Do you understand?”

“Yes, Ma’am”
“Okay, that’s great”

Elicit:
“Before we proceed with our lesson, let me see
if you can still remember our discussion from
the last meeting.”

“Let’s have a short activity called: Label it!”

“Can you give me the secret word for number “Hidden Line, Ma’am”
1?”

“very good”

“How about for number 2” “Section Line”

“Very good”

“Next is number 3” “Extension line Ma’am”

“Correct, what is the secret word for number “Leader line, Ma’am
4?”

“Correct, very good”

“I guess everyone of you are now ready for our

new lesson”

Engage:

“I have the mystery pictures here, now look

closely at the picture, and observe. “

“What can you say in the pictures?” “It is projected in 3d form, and has views”

“Correct, good observation”

“exactly, We can see that it is in 3d form, and

has different views”

“We can see the front view, top view and the
right side view of the object”
“Our topic today is about……”

(project the 4 pics one word to guess the topic)

“Orthographic Projection, Ma’am”

“Correct, very good”

“At the end of the lesson you will be able to:

● Identify different views of orthographic

projections
● Project the three main views of an object
● value the importance of orthographic
drawing

“Let's discuss this further, but before that let us

have a group activity”

Explore:
(In this section, students will be given time to think,
plan, investigate, and organize collected
information; or the performance of the
planned/prepared activities from the students’
manual with data gathering with Guide Questions)

“To understand our lesson let’s have an activity

called “Think and Share”.

“Instruction: You will be grouped in two groups,

each group has a different object. Draw the
front view, right side view and the top view of
the object given. The 3d objects will be your
guide in projecting the views of the object. The
questions attached below will be answered
afterwards. Choose one representative to
answer. You are given 2 minutes to do the
activity. Use only the materials provided. Paste
your work on the board”

“Attached here is the rubrics”

“Do you understand?”

“ Yes, Ma’am”
“Okay, your 2 minutes starts now”

(insert 2 minutes timer on screen)

Group 1:
(the group 1 did their work)

● What is the purpose of different

views in orthographic drawing?

Group 2:

(the group 2 did their work)

● What is orthographic projection used

for?

“Time’s up”

“You can now paste your works in the front”

“Alright very good everyone”

“The questions will be answered later on by

your representatives”

“Let us check your works as we dig in with our

topic today”

Explain:
“Orthographic Projection is a projection with all
the views arranged at right angles to each other.
It completely describes the given object in size
and design. It is generally used as the basis for
all working drawings.”

Ortho means “straight or at right angle” and

graphic means “written or drawn”, projection
comes from two Latin words: “pro” meaning
forward and “jacere” meaning to throw.

(question projected on the screen)

“Let us have the representative from group 1 to

answer their given question”

(question projected on the screen) Group 1 Representative: To clearly input the details
of the object. It may be used by engineers, designers,
What is the purpose of different views in
“ architects, and technical artists to help a
orthographic drawing?” manufacturer understand the specifics of a product
that needs to be created, so that a person looking at
the drawing can see all the important sides.

“Correct, Orthographic drawings are useful

especially when a design has been developed to
a stage whereby it is almost ready to
manufacture.”

“And the next question will be answered by

group 2 representative”

(question projected on the screen) Group 2 Representative: Orthographic projection is a

necessary component of technical drawing and helps
“What is orthographic projection used for?” provide useful information on the proportions,
structure, and appearance of a drafted object.

“Very good, Since orthographic drawings show

multiple viewpoints, they are helpful to make
sure that a product or object can be accurately
created in accordance with an engineer's
requirements.”

“Everyone got the correct answers,

congratulations for a job well done”

Elaborate:

The Following Three views are prepared in the

orthographic drawing.

1. Front View:

This view is prepared by placing the object in

front. The length and height of an object are
shown in this view.

● The front view (FV) shows the other forms

by ways of hidden lines.
● The front view is drawn on the LOWER
LEFT PORTION of the drawing; the TOP
VIEW is directly aligned on top of the front
view.

2. Top View:

This view is prepared by looking at the object

from the upper side. The length and breadth of
the object are shown in it.

● The top view (TV) shows only the shape of

the object.
3. Side View:

This view is prepared by looking at the object

from the right side or left side. The breadth and
height of the object are shown in it.

● The whole drawing or projection must be on

the left and the assembly drawing (isometric
or oblique drawing of the object) must be on
the right.
Steps in projecting the three main views of
an object

1. Lightly construct the front view

2. lightly construct the top view directly
over the front view. extend the lower
side of the top view to intersect a
vertical line drawn to the right of the
front view
3. project the features of the front view to
the right of the vertical line. draw a line
at 45 degrees from the point of
intersection.
4. project the contours of the top view to
the 45 degrees line. then project the
contours vertically to construct the right
side view.
5. erase all unnecessary lines. complete the
finished linework to obtain the required
orthographic views.

“Do you have any questions?”

“None Ma’am”
“To further understand our lesson let us have a
group activity, I will divide you into two groups,
this will be the group 1, and this is the group 2”

“You are going to locate the three principles of

orthographic drawing in the given isometric
object, you are only given 1 minute to answer”

“Once you are done, you can paste your output

on the board”
(present the 1 minute timer on the screen)

“Time’s Up” (group 1 and group 2 posted their works on the

board)
“Now, we will check your works”

“We have here isometric view of the object, very

good group 1 got the correct answers, let us
give 10 claps for group 1”

“Next is the orthographic drawing, group 2 also

labeled it correctly, let us give them 10 claps”

“Very good everyone, now let us proceed to our

quiz”

Evaluation:
“Let’s have our quiz, keep all your notes , only
your pen will be seen on your desks”
(distribute the answer sheets)

“Time’s Up”

“Finish or unfinished, pass your papers 5, 4, 3,

2, 1”
Extend:
“Now, for your assignment, on a long size bond
paper, you will create your own 3D object and
draw in different views, including isometric.”

“The deadline of your assignment will be on

October 12, I will be collecting your
assignments on that day only”

“This is the rubrics in making your 3D object,

you will be graded based on the given rubrics”

Rubrics:
“Do you have any clarifications with the
assignment?” “None, Ma’am”

“Okay, class dismissed see you next meeting”
