B737 OPERATIONS MANUAL SUPPLEMENT

INTRODUCTION

General
This Operations Manual Supplement has been prepared by Pemco World Air Services and covers information
on Pemco modifications for the 737-400 Combi (C), 737-300/400 Freighter (F), and 737-300 Quick Change
(QC) aircraft.
The purpose of this supplement is to provide the necessary operating limitations, procedures, and system
information for the Flight Crew regarding Pemco C, F, and QC conversion aircraft.
Each page in the Pemco Operations Manual Supplement has a title at the top. These page titles are similar to
titles in the Boeing Operations Manual, except where new data is entered, such as the MAIN CARGO DOOR,
SECONDARY GEAR WARNING, and etc. The new data will cover information on Pemco modifications only.
Page Numbering
There are three sets of digits that make up the page numbers. The first two sets of digits of each page
number indicate chapter and section. The third set of digits is the page number for that section.

CARGO HANDLING SYSTEM

The Cargo Handling System (CHS), installed in the

converted passenger/cargo compartment, provides
all necessary components for ease of loading and
restraining standard cargo pallets or Unit Load
Devices (ULDs).
Ball mats located in MCD area allow for movement
of cargo pallets forward, aft, or sideways. Roller
trays throughout the remainder of cabin allow
movement of cargo pallets forward or aft. Fore and
aft, side, center, and end restraints provide the
means of securing pallets or containers against
movement vertically as well as horizontally or
laterally.
A row of center dividers are installed down the
center of the cargo compartment, aft of the ball
panels and between the retractable restraints. The
center dividers are used to secure the sides of the
61.5 inches wide pallets. These dividers are
installed on the center seat track, between cargo
pallet restraints. The pawls on these units are
designed to automatically fold down when a full
width pallet is passing over them and extend after
the pallet has passed over. Spring action on the
pawls extends the pawls when the weight is off of
the divider.
Seat pallet adapters (QC aircraft only) are provided
for securing seat pallets when converting to
passenger configuration.
All CHS components are securely attached to seat
tracks installed in the cabin floor. For details on a
specific 737-300 or 737-400 CHS, refer to the
appropriate CHS Component Maintenance Manual
(CMM).
In the 737-300, the freighter configuration
accommodates eight 88” x 125” or 88” x 108” ULDs
plus one LD-3 or AEH container in the ninth
position.
In the 737-400, the freighter configuration
accommodates nine 88” x 125” or 88” x 108” ULDs
plus one LD-3, AEH, or Demi-container in the tenth
position. The Combi configuration accommodates
four 88 x 108 ULDs offset to the right-hand side of
the aircraft or 88 x 125 ULDs.
