ANALYZE:
1. How did the classroom organization and routines affect the learners’
behavior?

Establishing a structured and routine environment in the classroom


positively influences student’s behavior, enhancing their sense of
responsibility and improving their ability to manage their learning
effectively. This approach also contributes to heightened self-esteem,
behavior regulation, and the promotion of positive relationships within the
classroom. Furthermore, student’s have the opportunity to develop self-
control, ultimately reducing the likelihood of academic challenges and
failures.

2. What should the teacher have in mind when she/he designs the
classroom organization and routines? What theories and principles
should you have in mind?

In designing classroom organization and routine the teacher must


consider the following theories and principles:
▪ Behaviorist theory or Behaviorism which is focusing on the behaviors of
the students including the positive and the negative ones.
▪ Humanist theory or Humanism that emphasizes the human capabilities,
what the student’s goals their learning style and preferences.
▪ Democratic theory in which the students are given the opportunities to
participate in the decision-making regarding learning as well as the equal
chances to choose their own educational path.
▪ Psychoanalytic theory in which the teacher must consider individuals
thoughts, feelings, and experiences consciously and subconsciously.
▪ Cognitive theory should also be considered to give attention to the
learner’s mental processes and their construction of knowledge.

3. Which behavior strategies were effective in managing the behavior of


the learners? In motivating students? Why were they effective?

The following are the behavioral strategies that teachers may use to
manage the behavior of students or motivate them effectively:
▪ Organize the classroom set-up in a new learner-centered classroom
space where students can be more independent and self-reliant.
▪ Utilize wide variety of tools, materials, approaches, and strategies in
teaching to support the different types of learners.
▪ Create classroom expectations or simply classroom rules that are
achievable by students.
▪ Reinforce teaching routines and procedures effectively.
▪ Acknowledge good behavior and reward them for doing well. This will not
only motivate them but this will maintain their demonstration of good
behavior.

REFLECT:
1. Imagine yourself organizing your classroom in the future. In what
grade year level do you see yourself? What routines and procedures
would you consider for this level? Why?

In the foreseeable future, I visualize myself guiding secondary


students in my classroom. I plan to commence my lessons with a prayer,
as it holds significant personal importance. Following that, I will engage
the students by asking about their well-being, happiness, and feelings
regarding the topic at hand. These inquiries will serve as valuable
indicators of their current grasp of the lessons. Understanding their
sentiments about learning my subject will enable me to promptly identify
the strategies required to cater to their individual needs. Additionally,
routine tasks such as attendance, motivational activities, and engaging
discussions with regular questioning will be employed to ensure their
comprehension.

2. Make a list of the rules you are likely to implement in this level. Why
would you choose these rules?

The rules that I would most-likely to implement in this group of students


are the following:
▪ Be on time- To help them realize the value of punctuality.
▪ Be respectful- A common rule that everyone should learn.
▪ Follow directions- To remind them that through following directions,
things will work well.
▪ Keep quite raise your hand if you want to speak- To minimize loud
noises.
▪ No foods/gums/drinks while in class discussion- It is disrespectful for
teachers if the students are eating while they are discussing.
▪ Ask questions- To normalize raising queries if the concepts are not clear
for them. And also, to avoid them from making wrong outputs.

3. Should learners be involved in making the class rules? Why?

Encouraging students to participate in the formulation of classroom


rules is crucial for fostering leadership skills and instilling sense of
responsibility for their actions and conduct. This collaborative approach
enables both students and teachers to mutually agree on the necessary
regulations. However, it is essential for teachers to guide the rule-making
process, given their familiarity with guidelines and expertise in facilitating
productive discussions about the rules to be implemented.

 Paste pieces of evidence of classroom rules that work in class. You may
also put pictures of the physical space and learning stations which
contribute to the effective implementation of classroom management.
