Website Creation
Description:
In this assignment, you will dive into digital marketing by creating a website for a product
category of your choice. You will utilize free website creation portals to build an engaging and
effective online platform to promote your chosen products.
Objectives:
1 To gain practical experience in website creation using free online platforms.
2 To develop skills in designing and optimizing a website for effective marketing and user
engagement.
3 To apply digital marketing strategies to promote products effectively on the chosen
website.
Assignment Tasks:
1 Select a minimum of three product categories that interest you. This could be anything
from fashion accessories to electronic gadgets, beauty products, fitness equipment, or any
other category you are passionate about.
2 Conduct research on your chosen product category, including target audience
demographics, market trends, competitor analysis, and popular marketing strategies used
in the industry.
3 Select a free website creation portal such as WordPress.com, Wix, Weebly, or any other
platform you choose. Explore the features and templates offered by the platform to
determine which one best suits your project needs.
4 Design and develop a website for your chosen product category using the selected
website creation portal. Create engaging and visually appealing content, including
product descriptions, images, videos, and other relevant information to attract and retain
visitors.
5 Apply digital marketing strategies to promote your products effectively on the website.
This may include search engine optimization (SEO), social media integration, email
marketing, content marketing, and other promotional tactics to drive traffic and
conversions. (You can skip this task at this moment as this task will be performed
later after the coverage of SEO and SEM from module 3)
6 Optimize your website for performance, user experience, and search engine visibility.
Conduct testing to ensure all features function correctly across different devices and
browsers.
7 Present your completed website to the class, highlighting your design choices, marketing
strategies, and overall approach. (This presentation will be done at the end of the
course during the final presentation)

Assignment Deliverables:
1. A brief written report detailing your product category selection, website creation process,
and digital marketing strategies implemented.
2. The URL of your completed website for evaluation purposes.
Assignment Grading Criteria:
1 Creativity and Innovation in Product Category Selection
2 Quality of Website Design and Content
3 Optimization and Functionality of the Website
Additional Guidelines:
1. It is a group activity
2. The project report should be submitted on or before 30.04.2024 (a brief write-up about
your website and link to the website need to be uploaded on LMS)
3. No duplication; another student cannot choose the same product/service.
4. Late submissions will not be entertained.
5. Students who fail to submit the report will lose their Internal Assessment and Final IA
scores.
6. Though it is a group activity, students must submit each assignment individually in their
LMS portal.
Students can use their innovative and creative ideas to do the same.
