1) What is a countable noun?


They have a singular and a plural form. In plural, these nouns can be used with a
number (that's why they are called 'countable nouns'). Countable nouns take
many.

Example:
How many friends do you have? (Pueden ser 3 amigos)

How many is used when we want to know the QUANTITY of something.

• How many days are there in January?


• How many people work in your company?
• How many cousins do you have?

• How many countries are there in the world?

2) What is an uncountable noun?


They can only be used in singular. These nouns cannot be
used with a number (that's why they are called 'uncountable nouns').
Uncountable nouns take much.

Example:
How much money do you have?(No contamos 7 dineros)

3)Differences between much and many


'Much' is used when we are talking about a singular noun. It is used for things
that you cannot count, that is, for countless things.
'Many' is used when we are talking about a plural noun. It is used for things that you can
count, that is, for accounting things.

Los sustantivos contables se pueden utilizar con un número y tienen forma plural y
singular. Los sustantivos incontables sólo se pueden utilizar en singular y no se pueden
utilizar con un número.

Differences between how much and how many


'How much and how many are used to ask for quantities. Therefore, how much is used with
uncountable things and how many with countable things.

How much: cuánto


How many: cuántos

Examples:
"How much money do you have?" (¿Cuánto dinero tienes?)
"How many friends do you have?" (¿Cuántos amigos tienes?)

We don't say: “I have 100 money”.

Differences between how much and how many


'Much' and 'many' are often used with questions and negative clauses.
Examples:
"I don't have many friends."
"How much money did you spend last night?"
-With positive clauses they are used with the words: 'so', 'as', or 'too'.
Examples:
"I have so much homework tonight!"
"She has as many shoes as I do."
"John worries too much."
