For the third straight week the Morehead State men's golf team will hit the links in competition. The Eagles will trek to Cincinnati for the Xavier Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Maketewah Country Club.
The original course was designed by Tom Bendelow and opened in 1910. It was redesigned by famed golf course designer Donald Ross in 1919 and opened for play in 1922. A further expansion and redesign was completed by Ross in 1929. The course plays 7,109 with a par of 70.
"We love making the trip to Maketewah," said Morehead State head coach Matthew Martin. Xavier puts on a great event and the golf course is fantastic."
The Xavier Invitational will be the last of the fall season for Morehead State. "We have enjoyed success there and look for that to continue as we end the fall season," said Martin.
After the winter break, the Eagles will kick off their Spring campaign February 16-18 at the Casablanca Collegiate in Mesquite, Nev.

- At last week's Pinetree Intercollegiate, Nolan Piazza finished tied for eighth, his third top 10 finish of the fall. Piazza carded nine birdies and an eagle over the three rounds of play. He ranked second in the 60-man field scoring –8 on the par 5's.Â
- Morehead State's t-5 finish at the Pinetree marks the third top five finish in four outings for the Eagles.Â
- Piazza's 63 in the second round of the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational is the lowest round recorded in the Ohio Valley Conference to date this fall. Â
