Exploring/Emerging (E) - a level of practice in which the teacher leader relies on ongoing
assistance from more experienced colleagues for support, guidance, and survival. The
teacher leader is moving toward becoming more self-directed and independent in her/his
practice.

Applying (A) - a level of practice in which the teacher leader is able to provide
independent leadership and easily applies what s/he has learned about leadership.

Integrating/Innovating (I) - a level of development in which the teacher leader is fully


skilled and confident. The Integrating/Innovating teacher leader contributing to the
broader educational community through staff development, research, or publication in
professional journals

I provide all students voice. My exceeding
students have an opportunity to learn more,
do assignments without support, and/or help
a peer. Students who are approaching have
the option of working with a small group or
with a teacher.
Every student is different. Some students
need manipulative hands on approach to
understand concepts where other students
can use abstract models.
Proposition 2: Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach E A I
those subjects to students.

In teaching students I provide literature as a


resource, videos, and experience. Students
then tap into their background
understanding to bridge what they know
with new information that is learned.
In lessons, I give multiple opportunities to
understand concepts by playing games,
using tactiles, watching videos, and peer
teaching.

student learning.

In my classroom we are student led. The goal
is to be less of teacher talking and more
student curiosity and leading. At the end of
each subject I do a quick formative
assessment of how they feel they understood
the lesson. Thumbs up, down, or side ways
for how they feel and will implement exit
slips to have written assessments to refer
back to.

I can grow in making difficult choices that
I am observed quite often. While being test my professional judgment.

hope to learn something new to improve my

In my formative assessments of student
learning If the majority of the class scored
below an 80% I will reteach and base that on
my practice not their understanding.
My mentor observed me and asked me to
implement some new strategies. I did and
the outcome was incredible.

To begin, I collaborate with other grade
levels to serve our students with unity and
fluidity.
I also collaborate with families to help
students who need more support outside of
the classroom. Keeping open communication
for the betterment of the student shows
families we care.
Our school works with the nearest assisted
living home to bring in senior citizens to read
to our students. This brings the community
in to also share from experience. We will
also get many retired teachers who enjoy the
time with students.
Summary of Strengths and areas for growth
Collaboration is an area of strength. I love to learn by reflecting on my own practice and get
feedback. In listening to families, students, and coworkers I can become better for myself,
my students, and a team member.
Everything I do is to build my students comprehension and understanding of critical
concepts. Being a willing participant in looking for a varied compiled strategy bank helps
students of all proficiencies to build confidence in what they know and want to know.
