**Project Description:**

STOCK ACCOUNTING is an ERP-based project designed for a major retail


chain in the UK, which specializes in selling a wide range of products
including provisions, food & beverages, furniture, and electronics. The ERP
system helps streamline and integrate essential business functions like
inventory management, supply chain visibility, financial reporting,
purchasing, sales, and customer pricing.

### Functionalities of STOCK ACCOUNTING:

1. **Stock Items Management:**

- Maintain a comprehensive list of stock items across various categories.

- Track stock levels in warehouses and across multiple retail stores.

- Create and manage item barcodes (supplier-specific, auto-generated,


or custom).

2. **Purchases Management:**

- Manage and document purchase orders.

- Track incoming stock from suppliers and update inventory accordingly.

- Implement reordering levels and booked stock management for


optimal inventory levels.

3. **Customer Management:**
- Store customer details and history of purchases.

- Enable customer-specific pricing and manage offers.

- Generate invoices and process returns or exchanges.

4. **Suppliers Management:**

- Maintain a supplier database, including their pricing and delivery


terms.

- Track order fulfillment and supplier performance.

5. **Sales Management:**

- Manage sales transactions across multiple store locations.

- Record sales data and generate comprehensive sales reports.

- Integrate customer purchase history for marketing and personalized


promotions.

6. **Inventory and Supply Chain Visibility:**

- Gain insights into stock availability, movement, and real-time updates


across the supply chain.

- Monitor the transfer of goods between warehouse and stores.

- Generate accurate reports on stock levels and anticipate stock


shortages.

7. **Financial Reporting:**

- Generate reports that summarize stock-related financial data.

- Provide accurate profit, loss, and stock valuation insights.

### Workflow of STOCK ACCOUNTING:

1. **Inventory Setup and Stock Entry:**

- Enter stock items into the system.


- Configure barcode settings (custom, supplier, or auto-generated).

- Input initial stock levels and assign items to specific warehouses or


stores.

2. **Supplier and Purchase Management:**

- Record supplier details and set up purchase agreements.

- Create purchase orders based on stock levels or pre-set ordering


thresholds.

- Receive stock updates upon order delivery and manage payment


records.

3. **Customer and Sales Transactions:**

- Record sales data when customers make purchases in-store or online.

- Apply customer-specific pricing and promotional offers.

- Generate and print invoices for completed transactions.

4. **Stock Tracking and Reporting:**

- Monitor stock movement between different locations (warehouse to


store transfers).

- Keep track of booked stock and available levels.

- Run regular stock audits and generate reports for better inventory
oversight.

5. **Barcoding and Label Management:**

- Create and print barcodes for new stock items.

- Scan and verify stock using barcodes during purchases and sales.

### Day-to-Day Responsibilities as Test Engineer:

- **Understanding Project Requirements**:

- Review and analyze the functional specifications provided by the


business.

- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the application’s core


functionalities.

- **Test Scenario Identification and Design**:

- Identify key test scenarios that cover the full functionality of the ERP
system.

- Collaborate with the team to design detailed test cases based on


scenarios.

- **Test Case Execution**:

- Prepare and execute test cases aligned with system requirements.

- Use manual and automated testing methodologies to validate system


behavior.

- **Performing Black Box Testing**:

- Conduct functional testing to ensure each module works as expected.

- Perform usability testing to verify the platform's user-friendliness and


ease of navigation.

- Execute regression testing after code changes to ensure new updates

- **Test Automation**:

- Develop optimized test scripts using WebDriver with Java and TestNG.
- Execute scripts and debug failures for continuous testing.

- **Bug Reporting and Tracking**:

- Log any identified defects in JIRA and collaborate with the development
team for resolution.

- Track bug status and retest after fixes are deployed.

- **Collaboration and Documentation**:

- Work closely with other QA team members and stakeholders to ensure


comprehensive coverage.

- Maintain test execution reports and document test outcomes for future
reference.

This structured workflow and clear set of functionalities ensure the STOCK
