    At current prices, the gross value of production amounted to PHP1.25 trillion (USD28.41 billion*) or 5.27 percent higher than 2009.

    The crops subsector which contributed 45.47 percent to the total agricultural production reported a 2.77 percent decline in output this year. Gross value of crop production was PHP666.8 billion (USD15.15 billion*) at current prices and was higher by 5.60 percent from the 2009 level.

    Livestock production which accounted for 12.69 percent of total agricultural production was up by 1.48 percent. The subsector grossed PHP211.0 billion (USD4.8 billion*) at current prices, up by 7.41 percent from the previous years level. The poultry subsector which accounted for 14.93 percent of total agricultural production grew by 3.72 percent. At current prices, the subsector grossed PHP152.1 billion (USD3.46 billion*) or 4.80 percent more than the year ago record.

    Production in the fisheries subsector which represented 26.91 percent of the total agricultural output expanded by 1.72 percent this year. The subsectors gross value of output was P221.3 billion (USD5.03 billion*) at current prices. This was 2.64 percent higher than the 2009 record.
