LEARNING STANDARD: 6.1.1 Compare and contrast pasrts of plant. i.e
i) leaf : types of vein
ii) flower : flowering, non-flowering
iii) stem : woody, non-woody
iv) root : tap root, fibre root
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to :
i) leaf : types of vein
ii) flower : flowering, non-flowering
iii) stem : woody, non-woody
iv) root : tap root, fibre root
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils can identify 4 characteristics of plant and classify plants according to chosen characteriscs.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES : : Activity 1 1. Teacher shows balsam plant to the pupils.
2. Pupils are asked to name parts that they know after the teacher points out a specific part of the balsam plant.
3. Once all the part have been asked and the pupils have answered correctly, the teacher will introduce today’s learning topic.
: Activity 2 1. The teacher will provide 4 stations containing samples of different parts and magnifying lenses.
Station 1 : 2 types of leaves (netted veins and parallel veins)
Station 2 : 2 types of root (taproot and fibrous root)
Station 3 : 2 types of plant (flowering plant and non flowering plant)
Station 4 : 2 types of plant (woody plant and non-woody plant)
2. Pupils are divided into 5 groups. Each group will go to the staions to fin answers to complete the group assignment.
3. Each group can refer to a simple note related to the part of the plant as a guide to find the answer.
4. Groups that successfully complete the tasks first and have the right answer will be rewarded.
: Activity 3 1. Pupils answer the questions in the activity book related to the topic they have learned. (Activity Book page 35-37)

LEARNING STANDARD: 6.1.2 Relate the parts of plants. i.e leaf, flower, stem, and root with its importance to the plant.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to :
1. State the importance parts of plants to itself.
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils can state 4 importance of every part of plants correctly.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES : : Activity 1 1. Pupils are asked by the teacher about the topic of past learning.
2. Teacher will inform pupils that today’s learning is related to the topics learned in previous learning
: Activity 2 Acting Activities
1. Pupils will sit in groups that have been assigned and given the role of characters as leaves, stems, flowers and roots.
2. Each group will get four different face masks.
3. Pupils will wear masks of each character and are given 15 minutes to read each role and function of the plant.
4. Pupils will play the character according to their group.
: Activity 3 1. Pupils answer the questions in the activity book related to the topic they have learned. (Activity Book page 38)

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to :
1. Make generalization that different plants may have same parts.
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils will be able to identify 2 similarities in different plants.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES : : Activity 1 1. Teacher show 2 different types of pictures.
2. A picture of plant will be pasted to the white board so pupils can write the similarities between the 2 types of plants.
3. The teacher introduced the topic to be learned today.
: Activity 2 Group Activity
1. Pupils are divided into 5 groups.
2. Teacher will distribute the picture of plants that have similarities to the parts of the plant .
3. Teacher distributed 1 piece of mah-jong paper that was divided into 4 section to each group.
4. Pupils will be provided with scissors and glue to classified plants that have the same characteristics of the same plant parts.
5. Each group will paste their own work into the classroom with the help of a teacher.
6. Each group will move with a red pen to mark the other group’s answer. Correct answer will be marked (/) and will be given
a star sticker.
: Activity 3 1. Pupils answer the question related to the topics today on the worksheet. (Use double bubble map)

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to :
1. Make generalization that different plants may have same parts.
2. Explain observations about parts of plants using sketches and writting
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils will be able to identify 2 similarities in different plant correctly.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES : : Activity 1 1. Teacher show 2 types of plants that have been taken in the school field area. (lalang plant and love grass plant.)
2. Pupils will be asked what they can see about the similarities and differences between these 2 types of plant.
3. The teacher introduced the topic to be learned today.
: Activity 2 1. Pupils are divided into 5 groups. (TB page 59)
2. Pupils will be taken to the school to pick up the 2 types of plants shown earlier.
3. Each group will be provided with material and tools such as adhesive tape, manila card, and scissors to produce one creative
work.
4. Pupils need to cut, paste and label the parts of lalang plant and love grass plant on a manila card.
5. After that, pupils decorate the manila card and present their work in front of the class.
