02/25/2008 Snow

After a couple weeks with no significant measurable snow, Monday night brought several inches of very heavy, wet snow. Below are a few pictures around campus, focusing on a couple of the areas that have been at the center of NIU the past couple weeks.

01/31/2008 More Snow!

Another 8" on Thursday night and Friday morning, making this one of the snowiest winters in sometime for northern Illinois. We have just topped 41" for the season. A few images from an early morning drive around town.

This storm was quite a surprise for our area due to this exceptional feature that set up shop well north and west of where the models had initially placed it. Snow totals in the Fox Valley -- 30 miles east of us -- approached a foot.
