Q: Why The Bulldog Club?
A: The Bulldog Club allows Butler athletics to meet its goals of graduation, integrity and winning. It also allows Butler to address the rising costs that are associated with competition at the Division I level. Bulldog Club gifts provide Bulldog scholar athletes with uniforms, up to date training facilities and equipment, team travel, the finest coaches, recruiting support, academic support programs and other essential components required to support all of Butler's teams and sports.
Q: What are the benefits of joining the Bulldog Club?
A: The Bulldog Club offers many benefits that vary based on your giving level including a quarterly E-Newsletter, Priority Points, exclusive Game Day hospitality to both Butler home men's and women's athletic events (select games), and more. Click here to view our Bulldog Club member benefits (PDF).
Q: When does my donation count towards Bulldog Club hospitality access (Terrace Tent, Sellick Room, Efroymson Family Gym, and Wildman Room)?Â
A: Donations made to the Bulldog Club or Butler Athletics made between January 1st - December 31st of 2024 will count towards hospitality access during the 2024-25 academic year.
Q: Can gifts be restricted to a specific sport?
A: Yes. Any gift to Butler athletics is appreciated, but an annual gift with no restrictions, such as a gift to The Bulldog Club Fund, is preferred. These gifts can be allocated to the greatest need. However, all gifts to Butler athletics, no matter the area or sport are eligible for membership in The Bulldog Club.
Q: If I give to The Bulldog Club, will I still be solicited for the annual fund and other Butler needs?
A: Yes. The Bulldog Club is just one of the many ways that gifts can be given to Butler.
Q: Can I make a tax deductible gift to Butler Athletics?
A: Yes. You can make a tax deductible gift to any one of our athletics funds, but tax deductible donations to these funds are not eligible for priority points.
Q: I would like to make a gift from my donor advised fund for Butler Athletics. Can I still do this?
A: Yes, gifts made from donor advised funds to support Butler Athletics are certainly welcomed. However, IRS regulations prohibit the use of donor advised funds for gifts that benefit the donor or any specific individual and are not eligible for priority points or other donor benefits, such as hospitality access.
Q: I would like to make my athletics contribution through my family foundation. Can I do this?
A: Yes, gifts made from private or family foundations to support Butler Athletics are certainly welcomed. However, IRS regulations prohibit the use of private foundations for gifts that benefit the donor or any specific individual. Therefore, such gifts not eligible for priority points or other donor benefits, such as hospitality access.
Q: I am older than 70 years of age and I would like to make a gift to Butler Athletics as a charitable disbursement from my IRA. Can I do this?
A: Yes; however, by law the donor is not permitted to receive any priority points or other privileges in exchange for the gift.
