Animal Health Program
The Animal Health Program works to protect Washington’s livestock and poultry by managing disease control, reviewing health certificates for interstate movement, and regulating facilities like feedlots and rendering plants. We also implement biosecurity measures, track reportable diseases, and issue permits for livestock and pasture movement. In collaboration with industry partners, we ensure swift responses to disease outbreaks and provide education at events such as fairs, 4-H and FFA meetings, and exhibitions, helping maintain a healthy, productive animal agriculture sector.
