Chapter 1
introduction
As they progress from primary to secondary school and
beyond, children are frequently faced with a variety of
financial issues. Some of these issues include ones with
oneself that may put one's own finances in danger. The
most significant issue facing students nowadays is that they
don't have enough money to support themselves while
attending college due to a variety of factors. Lack of funds
is a financial issue that some students deal with, and
raising awareness among them can help.
A financial difficulty is when stress is being brought on by money
worries. However, recent financial issues have plagued college students
and have grown to be a significant issue for them. Students sometimes
experience financial difficulties because they lack the funds to cover
their everyday expenses, which makes them anxious. After then,
financial issues will have an effect on your physical and emotional
health. Halliday Wynes (2014) asserts that a student's financial situation
will have an impact on their commitment to studying, which will have an
impact on their academic achievement. Furthermore, the country as a
whole had entered a recession as a result of inflation and the trade war,
which increased the number of students who were having financial
difficulties. Therefore, the researchers carried out a study to
demonstrate the effects on college students' academic performance if
they don't spend time managing their finances and how to fix it.
The researchers conducted this study to realize the
importance of financial problem, and to know the impact
of financial problem to the grade 12 students in Tanauan
School of Craftsmanship and Home Industries. This
research can help other or future researchers in
conducting their future research. This will also help the
needing students to be heard or seen and make the
people, especially the government, to make solutions by
this said issue or problem.
Statement of the problem
This study aimed to identify the IMPACT OF FINANCIAL

PROBLEM AMONG GRADE 12 STUDENTS in Tanauan School of
Craftsmanship and Home Industries during the school year
2022 - 2023.
Specifically, this seeks to answer the following questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of respondents in terms
of;
1.1; Age;
1.2: Sex?

2. Factors interrelated within the family that affect the
financial problem of the
student?

Theoretical framework
When you're worried about paying for school and

trying to figure out the best way to solve your financial
problems, many people start to wonder if they missed
something while they were in school. We are expected to
know how to manage our money as adults. However,
either a large number of people skipped that class or it
was never offered. The good news is that you don't need
an Ivy League degree to solve your financial problems.
Conceptual framework
This model will assist students in resolving their

financial problems with the assistance of the following
article, as a separate discipline, finance is still in its infancy.
Most major developments in finance with scientific rigor
occurred only in the latter half of the twentieth century.

Scope and delimitation
This study focuses on gathering information regarding to
financial problem to Grade 12 students in relation to their
academic performance. This study considers personal
information such as their name (optional), gender, age, and
section. The researchers have 74 respondents of Grade 12
students in Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home
Industries. The information needed will be gathered using the
likert questionnaires that are provided.

In order to give a common definition, the following

terms were defined. To provide a common frame to
facilitate understanding on the part of the readers.

Chapter 2
This chapter presents the related literature and
studies which covers the study of the impact of
financial problems to the motivation of the
respondents where part of several literature materials
will be shown to fully understand the research to be
done.
RELATED LITERATURE
A study conducted by Sum and Fogg (2015) found that poor students are
ranked in the 19 th percentile on assessments while students from a mid-
upper income family are ranked in the 66 th percentile on assessments. In
data from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS) measuring
kindergarten students achievement on the ECLS reading achievement
assessment, low-income students scored at about the 30 th percentile,
middleincome students scored at about the 45 th percentile, and
upperincome students scores at about the 70 th percentile (Rowan et al.,
2014). Students from low income families consistently, regardless of ethnicity
or race, score well below average (Bergeson, 2013). For example, in one
study, 43.5% of low-income studentsdid not successfully meet any of the
required subject area assessments while only 13.2% of low-income students
met all of the required subject area assessments (Bergeson, 2015). Similar
studies have found comparable results (Bergeson, 2014).
RELATED STUDIES
Financial problems are quite common and they contribute a
huge percentage of motivational problems found in the work
place. In most scenarios, financial difficulties are a result of
poor choices made by the individual (Ford, 2009). However, in
some instances the financial hardships are a result of situations
beyond the control of the individual. Some common financial
problems that are experienced by employees include: minimal
or no medical insurance, mortgage payments, gambling
addictions, lack of savings, and fraud (Shinnick, 2009).
Chapter 3
This chapter presents and discusses the research design,
respondents of the study, instrumentation, sampling procedure,
data gathering procedure, and statistical treatment of data.
RESEARCH DESIGN
The researchers used quantitative method in constructing
their research paper. Quantitative projects involve large
sample sizes, concentrating quantity of responses.
According to Cormack (1996), the research design is the
most important methodological consideration. The study's
thrust is the distinct and specific approach that is best
suited to Respond to the research questions the research
questions, the goal, and the objectives of the as a result, the
research design is influenced by the study (Brink, 1999).
INSTRUMENTATION
A researcher-created questionnaire checklist was used to collect the
necessary data from the Grade 12 students. The draft questionnaire
was created based on the researcher's readings and previous studies
relevant to this study. The requirements for designing a good data
collection instrument were taken into account when developing the
instrument. For example, statements describing the situation or issues
were toned down to accommodate the respondents' knowledge
preparedness. To accommodate free-form views on the topic or issues,
open-ended options were provided.
VALIDATION OF INSTRUMENT
The researcher presented the questionnaire to the

research advisor. The research adviser thoroughly reviewed
the research questions and questionnaire to ensure that they
were acceptable and appropriate. The researcher accepted
the research adviser's recommendations.
SAMPLING PROCEDURE
The survey was conducted with our population focusing on the
Grade 12 Students of Tanauan School of craftsmanship and Home
Industries. The researchers distributed surveys among their sample
that the researchers got using Slovin’s Formula: n= 690 (0.05)ᶺ2 n=
Sample size N= Population Size e= Margin of Error The overall
population size of the Grade 12 students are 690 in total, with a
margin of error of 0.05, the sample size computed was 253 students
which will serve as the respondents for the study.

Data gathering procedure
The researchers finalize the research instruments before
validating and testing them. Permission will first be obtained
from the school principal's office in the form of a letter
request for testing and administration of the research
questionnaire. The researchers will then use this approval to
request permission from the research teacher to conduct a
study.
Statistical treatment of data
In the study, for the quantitative method, the frequency
and percentage distribution were used in the analysis of data.
The data gathered were utilize using descriptive statistics
through simple percentage and ranking. The researchers
expressed the interpretation of the data using percentage with
the use of this formula:
