Bruce King played basketball for Morehead State from 1963-67. King was a member of the famous “Birmingham Four” that was coached by Bob Wright at MSU.

King joined the Eagle freshman team in the second half of the 1963-64 season. He was then elevated to varsity once he became eligible the second half of the 1964-64 season. In 11 games that semester he averaged 12.0 points and 12.7 rebounds per game.  He was MSU’s leading rebounder in 1965 and 1966 and ranked 13th all-time on the rebounding list at Morehead State at the time of his induction.

A native of Birmingham, Ala., King was a physical education major and a member of the Aquila Club (Gamma Theta Lambda) at MSU.  His shot-blocking and ball-stealing abilities made him feared and respected by everyone that faced MSU.
