Leonard Coulter was an All-American basketball player for Morehead State from 1971-74. Coulter earned All-American honors in 1972 after leading the team in scoring with 24.1 points and 14.2 rebounds per game.
A native of Danville, Ky., Coulter earned First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors all three years at MSU while leading the team in scoring and rebounding. He is a member of the 1,000 point club with 1,781 points. He is also a member of the top-20 rebounding list with 961 boards.
At the time of his induction, Coulter ranked fifth on the all-time scoring list and third on the all-time rebounding list. His career average of 23.1 points a game is third best in MSU history. His career best performance in scoring came against Tennessee Tech during the 1971-72 season when he dropped in 42 on them. He led the OVC in rebounding his sophomore year with 14.2 a game and finished second in scoring with 23.4 per game. In his three years at MSU, the Eagles tallied 38 OVC wins with only 14 losses. Coulter help led his teams to the share of the OVC title in 1972 and again in 1974.
