Hall of Fame
Donna (Stephens) Hedges played basketball at Morehead State from 1978-82. She is a member of the elite 1,000 point scoring club for the Eagles.
At the time of her induction, Hedges ranked second on MSU’s all-time scoring list with 1,710 points and third on MSU’s all-time rebounding list with 1,044 rebounds. She earned All-Ohio Valley Conference First-Team selections on three occasions. She led Morehead State in scoring three of her four seasons, including her freshman season when she played alongside fellow Hall of Fame member Donna Murphy. She was named OVC Player of the Week on six occasions.
Hedges was named to the OVC All-Tournament team twice. She also was named OVC Freshman of the Year in 1978. She was selected as an OVC Scholar Athlete in 1981-82, the first women’s basketball player to ever be given that honor. She averaged double figure scoring all four seasons. She averaged 9.6 rebounds per game or better in three of the four seasons and finished with a career rebounding average of 11.2 boards a game.
Following her playing career at MSU, Hedges joined the Eagle women’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant. She is married to the former Eagle golfer Jim Hedges and they live in Philadelphia, Pa.
