John Christopher

John Christopher played football for Morehead State from 1979-82. He was a two-time All-American punter for the Eagles and ranks as the top punter in MSU football history.

A native of Norwalk, Ohio, Christopher lettered all four seasons for MSU and averaged 42.4 yards per kick for his career. He was selected to the All-Ohio Valley Conference team twice and also led the league in punting twice. He ranked second nationally in Division I-AA in 1981 and led the nation with 43.9 yards per kick in 1982. He had 18 punts of 50 yards or more during the 1982 campaign.

At the time of his induction, Christopher held MSU records for punting yards in a game, in a season and in a career. He also held record in punts in a game (in a tie), season and in a career and for career punting average.
