Lamar Green played basketball for Morehead State from 1965-69. Green was a member of the famous “Birmingham Four” that was coached by Bob Wright. He was named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference teams of 1967-68 and 1968-69.

Green’s best season came as a senior (1968-69) when he averaged 15 points and grabbed 18 rebounds per game. He led the Eagles to their best record in eight years and claimed co-champions of the OVC with an 18-9 overall record.  That season the Eagles averaged 88.6 points a game, which was the highest in the OVC and among the top ten offensive efforts in the country. At the time of his induction Green ranked fourth all-time on MSU’s rebounding list with 914.

A native of Birmingham, Ala., Green went on to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the third round (fourth pick, 33rd overall) of the 1969 NBA draft. He played for the Suns from 1970 to 1975. For the Suns, Green average 5.2 points and 6.4 rebounds a game.
